W00t 360 rotation while moving along axis

Some how I posted this question as a tutorial original Sorry!

Hi all,

I am fairly new to Carrara and I am finding it a little difficult to animate objects. I am trying to rotate an object 360 as well as move it away and from the camera and rotate it of off the original axis, I hope that makes sense.

Anyways are there any tutorials that could enlighten me, remember I do not want to use the camera to go around my object.

Thanks any help is appreciated!

Ya exactly, I am having the same issue, it seems really complicated to do so in Carrara.

All I can suggest is moving to half way through your animation and rotating the object 180 deg. , then move to the 3/4 point of the animation and move it a further 90 deg. and then to the end and set it to the full 360 deg.

I hope there is an easier way - but I don't know it.

well, I think you need three points in the rotation, however you arrange them.

This is done by placing the prop at 0, 120, and -120 in sequence.

I found a better way to rotate objects, using a modifier (rotate or spin).

Move the "hot point" to rotate about an axis not on center of the object/bounding box.

using the spin modifier is the easiest way of rotating it: less than 1 will make it rotate slowly and bigger than 1 will increase it's speed.
