tutorial for new user

Hello, does anyone know of a good tutorial covering the complete construction of a cartoon type character from scratch to finish, including written instruction? I find the video tutorials helpful but difficult to follow for a beginner.
Thanks.

Thank you,
I've found this one. I have had trouble translating it to English.
I guess I should learn French.
