Also how to get better control over the tools in general. For example when using the sweep tool any slight movement of my mouse gets me some hideous shape that ends up covering my whole workspace LOL. I have to slowly inch my way back to some normalcy.
ill quickly answer this , your model is too Small, scale it up and zoom out a little before extrusions or sweeps.

Just another example. I just tried to view another silent video and the instructor was using keyboard shortcuts!!! So the mouse is not moving and things are happening on the screen and you have NO IDEA what is going on. A totally useless tutorial since all we can see is "magic" happening but we don't know how to reproduce it.

If you are going to make a silent video it is mandatory that you NOT use any keyboard shortcuts or if you do you must go back and annotate the video with text to explain, "Press Ctrl+T" etc. Otherwise please restrict your silent videos to mouse moves only so we can see what is going on. It's a good idea to also move slower than normal since you aren't talking, people need to really see the menu options you are choosing. I had to stop the video and playback one frame at a time to see which menu item was being selected.

Like I said, video with audio solves all these problems. I can't wait to see some because I have been unable to complete any of the silent video tutorials on this site.

a compromise would be a PDF file with embedded video explaining the why and how and showing workflow in video format i think.
open to ideas here
