Okay, Thanks JakalDesign,
This was a great idea and I liked it alot. I saw the snails and just had to do one myself cause they're all so cute.
Here's mine, I did a couple variations, one with teeth and then one with a tongue I liked better. The modeling time wasn't long and I took a little different path than what I would normally try, but ohwell.
I had alot of fun with this one and made some movies, all under 5 mb's or so just to play with and so maybe some newer people can watch.

Great challenge and tomorrow I'll try and shade him and maybe do something else too.

The movies and support files I keep on my site so I can play at home and at work.

Okay, getting a concept up and we'll work on it, I can't hang with you guys, you're too damn good, but I'll have some fun anyway and get a laugh or two by the time it's over I hope.

I'll have "part-2" by the weekend!

Here is mine

I'm trying the snail too. It's really cool ;)
I just hope you won't lauth of mine, it's so lower quality than what we can see here !

I have a question, How can I fix the shadow problem ? I'm using Blender and Ambiant Occlusion. I didn't manage to have a smooth picture

I'll work on the environnement and will add some details.

Try using Yafray with an HDRI for illumination and a weak light to create shadows

I already tried Yafray but the problem is that my procedural map for she shell doesn't render. Here is the test I did.
And yes, Yafray may be better, I like this render expected the shell isn't color mapped.

New render with HDRI.
I prefer this set up. Still no yafray.
I'll tune up the lights but it almost what I'm looking for.
