There's quite a few regressions in 2.2 despite it being claimed more stable.
unfortunate, but this is life..

I added the Alba font in case anyone needs it, it's a free font so I figure it's not breaking any rules anywhere.

I agree.
no biggie, at least I know 2.1 works!

I gotta dig up the installer though, because 2.2 installed over 2.1

...now where did I put that thing???

Yes, I am slow, but I'm not good at organic modeling. Here is a WIP shot for ya. Any comments welcome.

Update. I need only to make that last bit for its head, UV texture and pose it.

BTW, This is way hard to do.

Kryoclasm - You're doing great, I think I would have made the whiskers separate object and just stuck on rather than part of the mesh though.

Varsel - He's excellent, are you using the Studio HDRI? You have allot of noise in the render, try turning off interpolation and upping your lighting accuracy to 4 pix and good.

Here we go again.
Grendel : I was using the studio HDRI, but I changed it to something with a sky and clouds. Lighting accuracy at 2 and excellent. No interpolation and best antialiasing, object and shadow accuracy at 0,5.
BTW it's Carrara 6.

These challenges are fun.

For my next trick I will try Squirtle.
A little bit more challenging, but this is the way to learn something new.

Alright! This seems like a fun challenge i can sink my teeth into. Well, I had to check with resident Pokemon expert (my son). He has requested CHARIZARD, though I prefer making CHARMANDER.

Cool, on the black lines did you go UV, domain only or post?

I like domains in Carrara vm and the paint tool, but still hate UV'ing stuff with a passion.

I'm hoping M301 has some nice UV tools, I'm excited about getting it and I think the first thing I do when it comes out is lots of Pokimons.

I rendered out a toon pro outline image and in PS made a multiply layer. I dislike UV as well, probably the task I am worst at by far.

...OK, my 6 yr old manager has made a design change. CHARMELEON will now be the design brief.

Here is a WIP. He has a flame on the tip of his tail. Would you: a) model it with flat panels? b) photoshop an image? c) Is there a flame shader in C5?

I would either a) model it, or c) use the "fire" primitive in C5....the results are very similar to the pic.

but I think this is a modeling challenge??? so a) maybe the best bet.

maybe let Grendel decide
