Hello this place

Not quite sure if this is Standard Operating Procedure, but I'm willing to give it a try.

Male, same age as Bilbo and Frodo Baggins were when they went adventuring. Location also the same, except New World, not Old Self-taught in computer matters, know most keyboard shortcuts for older version of Photoshop. Hobbies include running very old software on very new computers, and am presently transferring Amapi 4.15 from my 266 MHz Pentium II (384 MB ram, 6 GB hard drive) running Win 95 to a 3.06 GHz P4 (1GB ram, 200 GB hard drive) Media Centre PC.

I only used the modelling software a bit on my older PC, but i still have the instructions on how to edit Photoshop Illustrator output files to enable them to be successfully opened in Amapi, which i dimly recall being very useful at the time.

Anyway, hi to all, and looking forward to learning lots of good stuff.

Welcome Roedy !
Have fun here, and if you want to upgrade your amapi ... we have 6.1 for free here, and some goodies/oldies.

Hi Roedy, this is a very nice and helpful forum to be in. So how does it feel to change from the old vs the new pc?

Hi juanmanuel,

I must say that I'm impressed by the capabilities of these new machines, all right. I can record video, edit and transcode video that is already recorded, and transfer video files (via a Messenger program) that has been transcoded, all at the same time, glitch free!

Hi mauidude,

I'm finding the "all the bells and whistles" interface a little baffling when it comes to navigating around this patch of cyberspace!
