| Vertex ![]() | Hello from the Netherlands Hello everyone, Registered some time ago and wow only now my first post. Guess things also have changed a bit since I had to update my old link to eovia and refresh the page too. Anyway, this is the first time I got the encouraging message to post something and here I am. Not sure how active I'll be as I'm not really a forum person - except with questions and such. I've spend most of my time on the daz 3d forums. As for my experience in modeling, well it's not really all that much. I remember blender and way back I toyed around with a command line operated ray tracer. I also had various fragtal programmes running on my incredible 8086. I got a bit more serious with Milkshape, a low poly 3d modeling programme and got my first experience with "skinning" uv maps. Later on I created a human model and some props for a German "mod group" for some other current game back then (I don't even remember which - my guess would be quake 3 arena). Then a long time I left the mod/skin scene for what it was and just dabbled in all sorts of blue moon projects. Nothing 3d related though. Then somewhere in 2002 my man gets me a wacom tablet for my birthday. I slowly started to doodling again and eventually discovered the Poser scene (though I used the free Daz studio programme). Wanting to create content myself I was "forced" to shell out for Poser, and got Hexagon and Carrara in a super deal. Of course at that point nothing could stop me, except a computer crash. No problem, fixed through upgrade, new HDD, getting an external no problem. Downloading everything, installing everything. Bang, short circuited my external (which functioned as backup). So now I have yet another computer system and oh guess what ... I'm in the process of downloading yet again Hexagon (though this time it's version 2.2!). Oh, I just discovered something. Downloading Hexagon 2.0 > computer crash shortly there after. Downloading Hexagon 2.1 > Again something happened, this time a HDD crash. Now downloading Hexagon 2.2 ... *panics and looks around very worried as if the world is about to come to an end*I think I need a cuppa tea. |

| Vertex ![]() | Oh no! I feel horrible that I didn't see this sooner. Welcome FranR ![]() Hope you finally got your computer working and are having fun with Hex and Carrara. How do you like the Wacom tablet? I have an old one laying around somewhere but I lost the stylus/pencil thing so I guess it would be of no use anyway. Should invest in a new one I suppose. Anyway, nice to see you here! John |

| Pixar want to hire me! ![]() | Also apologies for not replying to your hello - didn't get much time on 3D stuff last year so a lot of things slipped through. Anyway, belated welcome to Polyloop. I hope you have not been put off posting. ![]()
