| bijan ![]() | Great Tutorials Hello Everyone, I'm a newbie here and in 3D. My first experience with 3D modeling was with TrueSpace 3.2 which was free. I upgraded to 5.x and then to 6.6. I did some work in 6.6 and made some logos and I was enjoying it very much. I learned that the latest version of TrueSpace 7.5 was coming out and as the owner of version 6.6 I will get a discount upgrading to the new version which was completely rewritten and very powerful. I did upgrade to the new version, but there wasn't many tutorial to learn and use it comfortably. I searched the Caligari forum for every bit of tutorial and tips I could fined to learn the program. I came across a few forum posts that talked about Silo and Hexagon. I checked their websites and found a good deal at http://www.daz3d.com/ for purchasing Hexagon. When I started to use Hexagon, I was impressed with its power, speed and ease of use. I started searching for tutorial for Hexagon, and I found http://forums.polyloop.net with many tutorials on how to use Hexagon. I was thrilled. I started to download the tutorials and watch the video tutorials and pdfs. I must say this site is awesome and all of you who are posting these great tutorials are just bunch of nice people. I would like to thank the owner of the website for the great site and resources offered for free to the newbie's in particular, and I also would like to thank the users of the Hexagon and members of this forum for graciously providing free videos and walk-through for us beginners. |

| proud to be a nurb ![]() | Polyloop is a very helpful community of 3D addicts, as i'm sure you have noticed. Also the original creators of the Hexagon program are hanging around in here. So the best advice will be found at this site! Don't be afraid to ask questions when you get stuck... shorty |

| bijan ![]() | Thank you very much shorty and Snake. Thomas is a genius. I watched his fast video tutorials and used the Hexagon to make a hand. It took me a few days but it sure was fun doing it. I tried the same tutorial to make the hand in TrueSpace and I had a lot of trouble doing it and halfway through it I gave up on making models in TrueSpace. Here is the hand I did from Thomas' Tutorial, using Hexagon. |

| bijan ![]() | Roger that Snake. Thanks for the heads-up. Thomas, I'll never be able to model on my own. I'm like a monkey in a since of monkey see, monkey do. I tried to make a hand using cylinders. It looked horrible. The fingers were like spaghetti and the tips were hard to form. I believe you have the best method and I shouldn't re-invent the wheel. shorty, do you think there is a chance for me to replace Thomas? |

| Always learning new stuff ![]() | Sorry for this offtopic, but you know, Solt, I was thinking a long time ago, to do a sect : the Totyoisme (my other nickname is Totyo). It's the sect for megalomaniac and big heads, and big lovers of women ;) As you can imagine, it was a sect for the fun, nothing fanatic (well.. fanatic of women ) or religious!Nate: I'm not agree with you on some parts. Perhaps I'm the creator and owner of Polyloop, but without the help of my beloved moderators and all of you, members, which make Polyloop what it is. TaNoFF: you are very negative in your comment about your work. Perhaps you see what you did at a copy, but it's already a good beginning. Now, you have to analyze what you did, do it again again and again, with watching as less as possible the video. You have to understand the construction itself. It' can result weird result as a beginner, but it's the only way to improve your skills, and don't be anymore a monkey as you said. You know, as everybody, I did a lot of big craps, but I had a big perseverance . 3D is a hard thing to do, then, you must work hard. Still in the offtopic, (well, not so much), we will switch soon the policy of Polyloop, and we (the moderators and me), become more strict about the beginners and the technics. We are losing our focus here. We are here all to learn, included the more advanced users. Stay tunes! |

| bijan ![]() | Brian, I have tried to upload png, but the server converts it to gif and in process transparency data is lost. A word of advice Brian, one should not pose for picture right after getting out of bath or pool. Water causes shrinkage! Thomas, thank you for encouraging words. I have seen most of your works posted here and they are impressive! I don't think, in my life time, there is enough years left to get even close to your level of skill. I also think I have "ADD" I forget what I have learned a few days before! |
