The French Connection - Polyloop

Sadly I can not read French--and too old to ever learn it.

Every time I open "New Posts: I am confronted with most posts being uninteligable and , at the bottom of the page, PAGES of unread posts!

Any chance , for this old bloke, that the New Posts would always open with English please.

PS. IF the converter to English DID it would not be a problem!!!

Hi Brian,

It's the same for the only speaking french readers, who have also english written threads/posts they do not understand when querying the 'New Posts'

.

That said, you can get rid of old posts as you can click on the "Quick link" menu and use the "mark forum read" to remove all the older posts for the next time you will ask for new posts.

They have an existing hack, it don't modify the "New Post" link of the main forum page if i'm right. (show all new post of the forum)
But when you are on a subforum, the "New Post" link show only new posts in this area.

!!! There is so much amazing work in the french section, so i like to watch the threads. I just wish i could be involved in the discussions

Hugo gave me a good link to solve the "problem". I'll add this feature on the next upgrade of the forum (this next week end I think...)

I agree that the French stuff looks (IS) brilliant but without a worthwhile language converter I spend a lot of time and effort trying to sort out which threads I can read.

You can browse the forum with the Google translation anyway... but it's not as good as a real translation of course
