Good bye Eovia...

Hi,

Just a short message to tell you that I'm not any longer an Eovia member. Today was my last day at the Eovia Europe office.

Hexagon will now fly from "his" own wings (I don't know if its means the same in english that in french), without "his" parents, and we hope that "his" new "adoptive" parents will be able to help "him" growing and keep "him" in the same Philosophy that we try to learn "him" (Well, assuming that Hexagon is a Boy ;))

About myself, I'm now looking for a new job, while creating my own company (www.polyloop.com), about DVD training materials, about Hexagon, Carrara, and also perhaps Modo and XSI (perhaps Max too, but a lot of competition ;).

For this forum, as I said, I won't close it at all (and thanks again the the donators!), but I'll rename it soon, to www.polyloop.net, and also add new services, etc.

And thanks again for your support, for being a so great community!

Now, it's time to go drinking (my orange juce...) and taking my daily drug (Nutella power ;))

Thomas

Goodluck to you with Polyloop!

I was sure hoping that DAZ would have contracted with the Eovia team to go further in Hexagon's development.

I know you will do great at whatever endeavor you choose. You are a brilliant and motivated person. Thank you for all the ways you have benefited me.

Good Luck in all your efforts!

Good luck, Thomas.
Assuming you did not sign a non-compete contract, you could do it again for brand x...

who can see the future?

Thomas, good luck to you personally but as an Hexagon user that I love this program, I feell sad a bit. If i understand you well, there is no future for Hexagon and maybe for Carrara too. DAZ doesn't seem to make any serious development and if she was willing to make any, she sould make new contracts with the hexagon carrara dev. team that already knows the programs from inside very well. I can feel this is not a good sign at all..

I don't suppose you would be able to tell us who at Eovia decided to sell Hexagon to Daz?

I also had hoped that DAZ would contract with the original team to further develop Hexagon. It is always a sad moment when something like this happens, especially after all the build-up to Hex 2 with the blog and everything.

Anyway, the very best of luck in your future endeavours. I think changing the site name to polyloop will be a good thing and I hope the training business is a great success.

You and dev team have bought us such a wonderfull software as Hex2 which to me is the almost perfect modeller, you should be proud. Polyloop will be an exciting new venture and I hope a great success, but sad to see demise of eovia. I buy your DVDs when you have them

Just when the name Eovia is about to shine brilliantly, something strange happened. I don't know what to make of it. Since Thomas is no longer an Eovia employee, I assume that his polyloop site will no longer be application specific. Which means we can talk about other apps freely. True?

That's good, if you ask me. Being too emotionally attach to one or two application/s is not a good thing.

Congrats Thomas..
I always consider change as a step forward to achieving bigger and better things and growing as a person with the new challenges. I did not buy Hex and Car just for their abilities but also the company behind them ( Eovia ) As a contributor I would like the new name of the site to be www.polyloopacorndog.com.

Thomas:

Who at DAZ can we contact about this matter?
This is crazy!
They're leaving Hex and Carrara users out in the cold.
I would definitely like to talk to someone.
Is it possible to stay in touch with the Hex developers in some way?

Thomas:
All the best to you and all the folks from Eovia.
You were a great help to all of us.
Give my best wishes to the Hex team. They created a beautiful program that deserves to live on.

This just meant Thomas will no longer focus exclusively on Hexagon and Carrara. If you want an exclusive forum for these apps, go to DAZ forums.

First of all, this forum has never been an official forum that was supported by Eovia financially or otherwise. This is Thomas's personal website. He can pretty much do anything about it especially now that he no longer has any official connection with DAZ.

This forum has generated revenues for Eovia. It's where most Eovia users hang out and seek advise about the products. Strangely, Eovia didn't have to pay a dime to maintain this site. Thomas did with his own money.

I have no idea what format a new site will cover. I do think that Hexagon and Carrara forums will still be included, but I don't think Thomas will care that much about updates and all as in the past. Personally, I wouldn't blame him.

Hello Thomas,

I'm very sorry to hear of this. I was so hoping that DAZ would choose to renew contracts with you and your team. Truly a sad day-night-what ever. I wish you success and happiness only!! I'm glad you will keep your site going and the new name is very nice. Says it all!!

All the best

Richard ;-)~
