this site will still be the biggest resource for carrara, amapi and hexagon on.
I hope to see more cool stuff from you Thomas and all the best for the
Polyloop company,

The Carrara development team works for DAZ. They are busy working on carrara and will continue to do so in the future. LIke the original press release stated DAZ acquired EOVIA Corp the USA division that does Carrara.
They did not acquire Eovia SA the france division that does Hexagon. They only acquire Hexagon and its technology. DAZ is already moving forward with Hexagon future updates and plans.

This is crazy!
They're leaving Hex and Carrara users out in the cold.
I would definitely like to talk to someone.
Is it possible to stay in touch with the Hex developers in some way?

Thomas:
All the best to you and all the folks from Eovia.
You were a great help to all of us.
Give my best wishes to the Hex team. They created a beautiful program that deserves to live on.

Thanks guys for your kind words!
AlainK: You are completly wrong ;) Before the aquire of Eovia Corp (and not Eovia Europe) and Hexagon, Eovia Europe paid for the hosting and the forum. Even if it was my forum, even if it wasn't official, most of the Eovia Europe members were watching the forum.
Not, things have changed, but the forum won't change a lot, except some section additions, and some others which will merge (like bugs and requests).

But for those of you who want to leave, for an "official" forum, i'll understand perfectly. But remember that most of the advanced and best Hexagon and Carrara users are here ;)

Amen to that!

Sorry, but I got a little agitated (as in hot) about this... spewed some here, but will try to control myself... (I don't usually do this... apologies.. guess I'm getting to be an ornery fart in my old age ).

So it comes to the end of an era. If you change the people, you change the energy. Sorry to say, Daz will be hard pressed to keep up with such a legacy. Having said that, I will still be a part of this community, As I really do love Hex... It's the 1st piece of 3d soft where I felt right at home.

To you Thomas, truly wish you the best. Certainly something to work for such a team...and may it be stepping stones to the next level.

Thomas thanks for everything
Good luck in your carrer. As for Eovia, well is disapointing to see it go. I hope Daz keeps on the production of Carrara and Hex.

Anyways I bet i speak for every one, "We will miss you"

No meed to 'miss' Thomas. As he has said, the forum will continue and he is still going to be here

I, for one, will most certainly be sticking around here. It is the first place I visit each day. This is a great forum and deserves to survive, which is why I donated.

And, when the current money runs out and Thomas needs a few more donations to keep the site running, then let us all remember who puts the work in to keep it going. With over 5000 members it wouldn't take much of a donation each to keep the site open

Good luck Thomas. I know that you will be successfull no matter what you decide to do. I know the feeling of having to leave something that you have devoted a lot of time to and it can be stressful and almost leave you feeling empty wihtout it. But, don't worry about it. Focus on your wife and kid and make the best of the new time you have for a while.

Did I tell you how much I love the name polyloop? It's tré-cool! I certainly hope you fill 3dXtract's void.

Amen about the donations brother.
That's what the internet is all about,
empowering ourselves and all those we "choose to support".

Thanks again Thomas.

Thomas, good luck in your future.

I too am disappointed and saddened that the Eovia France team will no longer be working on Hexagon.

I don't think too many members here will leave though. As you said, there is a wealth of talent and good people here that is just too good of a resource to abandon.

When I have problems or questions I KNOW I can always get an answer here.

Thank you.

Steve

L33tace: it won't be a new site. Only the same (this one), but with a new name and some minor changes

Not even close to replacing you Thomas. I'm just doing what I have been doing for the past 5 or 6 years a supporter of what was at one time Eovia products. I just continue to do so under DAZ. But yeah I"m moderating the Hexagon and Carrara official forums for DAZ as well as my own setup at yahoo groups.
But no one can replace your great work and talents.

Agreed. I look forward to continued support at polyloops, Thomas. This has been the single most valuable resource I've found for Hex and Carrarra. I am glad you are not abandoning it.
