| We have been dazzed
"In conjunction with the Hexagon 2 release, DAZ has announced a limited time promotion, which ends May 31, 2006, providing the electronic download version (ESD) of Hexagon 2 at the DAZ webstore for the nominal price of US$1.99 for new and current members of DAZ’s Platinum Club. Initial cost to join the Platinum Club is US$29.95, with a monthly renewal fee of US$7.95. Alternatively, members can choose to join for an entire year with a flat fee of US$99.95. This special offer for Hexagon 2 ends May 31, 2006, after which the software will be priced at US$269 for the full version or US$119 for the upgrade from Hexagon 1. As a thank you to customers who pre-ordered the Hexagon 2 upgrade, DAZ will provide them a free one month Platinum Club membership with an option to renew, a US$30 value, along with a US$100 voucher which can be used on the DAZ store. Yup, now it starts, I new we were about to get "Dazzed" .

So cancel the platinum account or keep giving them $7.95 each month for a year and you still will have paid less than the full cost for Hexagon. e.g If I join the club and stay in the club for a year then Hexagon will have cost me in total $119. $32 to join and purchase and $87.45 for the monthly charge. That still leaves room to buy Bryce or Mimic or whatever and still not be paying the full cost of Hexagon 2. So in my eyes at least dont look a gift horse in the mouth. ;) Cheers Mike R

Hi! Actually, manleystanley, you can join the platinum club for $29.95 and set your account preferences to NOT automatically renew. In other words, you can do it for one month only. Full information here: http://www.daz3d.com/program/platinum/ To remove the automatic renewal, you can go to "my account", on the left choose "available downloads" and it will list when your platinum club will renew. Right under that it says: [The above item will auto-renew if you choose to enter a valid payment method and current billing address as explained at the bottom of your account page. To remove this option for auto-renewal from your account, CLICK HERE] Simple enough. I know this isn't a blessing to everyone, but let's try to make the best of it. DAZ isn't the devil! *added - if you stay in the club, there are many other benefits - you can use those vouchers for example! |

Oh, yes I wont argue that it's an excellent deal. And at the present I have the funds to do it; which is unusual for me. But I have to ask if not being a paying member of the Pclub; as in take advantage of the deal the drop the Pclub, if I will be eligible for updates/patches? I mean do I have to remain a Pclub member to get my updates, so the updates would cost $100 a year? Face it folks this is step 1 for Daz to get it's claws in us; yes I am a conspiracy theorist.

I remember reading somewhere (I've read so many forums on this, I don't remember where) that DAZ posted that you do NOT have to be a PC member to get updates! Many others were worried about that too. Since there will likely be bugs & updates coming soon, this is a big relief for everyone! (if I can find the post, I'll send a link so everyone will have it "officially" instead of heresay) btw...I think I knew you from Terranuts! |

malia01us yes, the one and only; thought about getting it as a domain name. Sounds good, I'll have to check it out. With gas prices I'm afraid to spend any money. I do need a new modeling prog, been using Metasequoia for ages; rock sold, easy to use, but limited; very basic. And has some issues with a few modeling formats. Not sure if there is that much there to use the voucher for. I've seen a couple of lists, but what I really want is Anything grows. I supose I could use another charector, but sence I don't have Poser I really can't do much with them in Carrara. I've got time so I'll just have to debate with myself a bit.

WOW! A litre is about .25 gallons (US), so you're paying about $6.88 US per gallon!!! O_O Ours are higher than they have ever been, but we're paying a lot less than you guys in Europe! I'm in South Carolina & ours are $2.83/gallon (about $0.70/litre)...that is, if my math is even close! LOL

Hey Stanley. Thought that was you - glad to see ya again! I know what you mean about tight times...I only recently found a job again, so it's been crazy. BUT, as I've been a PC member for years, even I could afford Hex 2! LOL Quote:

Hehe... Then you should consider the Norwegian prices, they're about the same as the UK prices: $1.60-$1.80 a litre, and we're one of the biggest providers of oil in the world... ;) I expect that in UK the thing about the price is the same as in Norway, most of it being taxes and other governmental fees.

Sardtok: Yup Uk taxes are applied to pretty much everything, probably twice (with some more while your not lokking ) and if you die then the government jumps for joy and taxes you again. .Cheers Mike R
