Hello all,

Let's start a clean thread to begin Day 2. If I missed any key questions yesterday, please post them in this thread.

Thanks

I'm still a little confused. Are the French programers still going to be developing Hexagon or is there going to be a new team? If its still the French team are they only for a few more point upgrades, and is/will it be switched to a different team (Americans)?

well, i have a question..

you said that the release of hexagon 2 will be before the end of april, you guys also said that the demo will be available "inmediately" after the release of hexagon 2..

-according to all that we should have a demo before the end of this month...right?

What we can say at present is that the current Hexagon development team is under contract with DAZ to produce the Hexagon 2.1 update. Beyond that, it is too soon to talk about how it will be handled.

Soon. Very soon. The dev team tells me they are very close to being able to give me the Gold Master for Hexagon 2.

...And the 'Wednesday e-mail' for H2 will be forthcoming within moments of that receipt?

I've been waiting on the email that was supposed to be sent out to pre-order customers....haven't seen it yet.

Hopefully, Hex 2 will be released in time for me to download it before the weekend. I have an idea that it may be released but many will have to wait until late next week to get the download link, as was the case with Carrara 5.

I'm a Hex supporter and am learning to use Carrara. So the new version is eagerly awaited.

Any word on that email?

I am slowly getting over the initial shock... just so use to Eovia... But I have two more mild mannered questions.

1) There seems to be some ambiguity in the statement about the France dev team, to wit I had previously thought that they would certainly go their separate ways after Hex 2.1, but the way you couched it it seems there might be a chance of them staying on? Or am I being overly hopeful?

2) I seem to have seen somewhere that you said there was going to be a redesign of the DAZ website, to make it more comfortable to Eovia users like myself who have been griping over it. Is that the case? Might there be a second software oriented site?

Thanks for trying to keep us a bay - I'm resigned and ready to believe DAZ can pull it off.

Guys. As I said in the other thread. Please keep this clean. Less "I'm pissed off" and "this sucks". More relevant questions. Bob is being patient and had been all over the place answering various questions. Lets be nice and appreciate him.

1) Bob has stated that its possible they might be under contract again. But as he has stated, he can't go into further details at this time.

2) They are working on a plan. I'm sure as soon as it is implemented we will all know

1- An option is that there may be a long-term contract with that dev team. I will stress that this is an option and there are no committments from either side at this point. We are all driving on Hex 2 and the subsequent 2.1.

2- The DAZ site will evolve to accommodate the new offerings. Software is different from content and as such we must evolve the site to handle what we are now offering. I seriously doubt there would be a second site, but we may set it up to feel that way. It is a work in progress and will take some time to build and execute the plan.

Does the Platinum Membership will be applied too to the Hex/Carrara products, in order to have extended support, exclusive shaders or whatever ?

After Hex 2 gets released but before 2.1, to whom do we send bug-fixes/requests to?

If I'm following, does that means the new politic for ex Eovia product is :
- buy our products
- if you want intermediate bug fixes, buy our silver or gold membership, otherwise, "farewell, and wait 'till the next buyable release !" although, sometimes, very nasty bugs remain ? which means also the true cost of the product is not displayed (the cost of the original buy + annual "maintainance" fees ).

As far as i've seen, and i can be wrong, platinum membership provides some advantages over "common" people, but not like Xsi Memberships with Premium support i.e...

But this was not the way to do from Eovia til now. So this is why i raise the point....

For those not in the know, PC membership is a pay for service at daz that enables up to 30% off Original products and the ability to buy a range at $1.99 each. It gives no other special privilages product wise that I have ever been given. Bryce 5.5 was updated three times free of charge for all users.

Platinum membership has nothing to do with support. It's mostly about discounts, getting some models for 30% off another others for $1.99.
