Hey I originally posted this on the Questions and Answers thread,
part of it has been answered, especially the part about the Hex team, that the European team might stay even after the release of 2.1, this will give the US team better time to familiarize themselves with the code for a subsequent take over of the Hex development.

The one thing I don't like about DAZ is the website, and I wish the Eovia website could've stayed, kind of like when it was a TGS company.
I really liked the Eovia website, it was nice, had a sleek design, worked well, was even well-integrated with this site (although I don't visit here much, had to stop by to check out the merger discussion)...
But I guess this would be difficult if Eovia Europe kept the name...

Who will continue to develop Hexagon?
People from the Carrara team?
Are they familiar with the Hexagon code?
These things are important issues to me, as I'd like to see continued development kept up to the current speed...
Familiarising oneself with someone elses code, even when you know the principals of it, takes time,
and it takes even longer if you are going to take a set of two teams, remove one, and now one team is going to code two products...
Now I guess you'll be bringing in new people too, (and I guess these would be DAZ people first and foremost), so speed might not slow down that much, but I'd still like to know.

Thanks.

I only bought Hexagon one month ago, for $199 - I would've pre-ordered Hexagon 2 instead had I known about the $100 voucher!

Thanks.

I am a loyal customer?
I own 2 licenses of Hex, but only one upgradet to Hex2(with C5), and in the worst case i have to wait a few days for Hex2 to download, now that is irony. =)

Should I have received an e-mail from DAZ by now regarding my Hex2 upgrade? It seems that it was to be released today, though I haven't heard anything official, just word on the forums. I preordered the Hexagon1 to Hexagon2 upgrade.

Just curious.

Looks like there has been a small delay due to a problem with the e-mail blast server in france ... they say it will be fixed by the morning paris time. The download server is ready to go .... its just the server that sends out the email with the DL links.

Thanks very much and I look forward to something in the mail sometime tomorrow hopefully!

BTW, I've had nothing but good service from DAZ. We purchased some of their models a year ago for a project at work, which would not function with our older version of Poser. They gladly honored their 30 day moneyback guarentee and refunded out money. I thought that was pretty cool since they could only rely on my honesty to uninstall the file I purchased upon receipt of the refund. I was so impressed, I sent them a nice thank you note.

I have to say, Eovia have been wonderful also, with regards to customer service. I hope the two companies do many wonderful things together in the future. I, for one, am optimistic.

Well, it's good to know that Dan has finally found an Eovia forum. I got tired of going over to the Renderosity Poser forum to read his comments. Not a good start on the customer support end, I might add.

Puke

Of course the biggest question is "What happens to Eovia3D.net?"

Ok so it's not really the biggest question but, seriously, is this site going to be renamed or anything?

DAZ is a fantastic company so I hope they do something for those of us who bought Hex 1.2 last month for 25% off with free upgrade to Hex 2, thinking we had a great deal... Those 30 days have cost me $199. I could've waited and saved $198.01, had I known. Or waited and pre-ordered Hex 2 and got a $100 voucher.

I offer a contingent hmph.

This site remains as is. Is has nothing to do with Eovia. It is the personal site of Thomas

Hexagon seems to be getting all the limelight, attention and special offers at the moment. So what about Carrara - is Carrara going to be the lesser sibling, is there any special offers on this piece of software?

Hey, can anyone get the Eovia Opt-in Faq to work?
Now, the URL when redirected to the Eovia site has evoia written as domain name, but even if you change the domain name, there's no FAQ,
and on DAZ you just get a headline about Hex2 being released...

Since I have a DAZ account under a different email-address I'd really like to not have two DAZ accounts, I could always just get rid of my old one and use the new one that goes to the Eovia mail account, no big deal, but still...

I think this is because Hexagon2 just came out.
Carrara has been on the market for almost half a year now, so there will probably not be any special offers on it for now,
but next Christmas maybe there will be pre-order specials on Carrara 6 ;)

I still haven't heard from anyone how to get my downloaded version of Hexagon2...no e-mail from DAZ or anything, though I see that they have announced that the program is available. Sorry to bug out over this but any ideas how to acquire this before the weekend begins? I was hoping to devote some time over the weekend to try out some things.

Don't get me wrong...I know the transition from Eovia to DAZ is never easy. But there were notification issues regarding my Carrara 5.0 upgrade some months back which Bob was very helpful in resolving. I want to be certain that this notification problem does not repeat itself.

Thanks as always,
Pierre

Try turning off your email spam guard. Or deluge them with emails, until they respond.

What about student and teachers-versions....(sorry if I overread that topic somewhere?) I have had many problems in the past ordering educational versions of some software, because I'm not located in the US....
The Eovia-store was able to accept my student-card and to sell me the educational version of carrara and hexagon. Will DAZ be able to do that, too?
