. Those devs have done wonders for Hex in the past year and I hope they get the contract. Now a small question: are there plans for Carrara and Hexagon support forums on the DAZ site as there is for Bryce etc.?

Some things that haven't been covered before... 1. Will anything be different with regards to Carrara Plug-ins and/or have an affect on those that develop them? 2. Will there now be a printed manual for Hex2 - or for that matter, Carrara (future versions)? 3. For those who have Amapi - Where have the updates gone? (eovia.fr isn't an active site yet) |

Not sure if you can answer this one, but, I would be interested to know how Eovia was set up. Were Eovia US and Eovia Europe different companies? It looks to me as though the US company owned C5 and Hex, and Europe owned Amapi. The Europe devs were then contracted to develop Hexagon. If this was the case then the split acquisition makes a little more sense, as does a continuing contract for the Europe team for Hex development. Is this how things were?

Here's another one. What, if any, commitment has DAZ made to working with the current plugin providers such as DCG and Inagoni? These guys have helped push the envelope and I would hate to see them left out in the cold. Can't lose my Anything Goos!

2- No. We are moving away from printed manuals. If we provide these moving forward, these will always be an optional purchase. 3- For this answer, please send an email to info@eovia.fr | |

After the Hexagon 2 chat, there was a session of Carrara 5/6 talk, during which many (including myself) expressed an interest in detailed character animation (bones tied to expressions deforming things, &c, &c...). Will Carrara continue to develope along a line of being intergrated with other tools (i.e. DAZ|Studio) in a loose way like Transposer, &c, while working towards a more powerful (and most likely more complex/detailed) character animation setup? I guess the question is Carrara's intergration going to be more along the line of create content in Carrara/Hexagon for "simpler" apps like DAZ|Studio/Bryce? Sorry if this sort of question was already asked... Thanks |

For something totally different check this out! I am a C5pro user and Hex1. I bought the Hex2 update because the previews sure look good. I also have various other softs. I've read all these posts over the last few daze, and just wanted to ask if anyone has bothered to look at the galleries on the DAZ website? It's been said that the DAZ does not enhance creativity, and it's just "push button" offerings to sell stuff to lusty boys playing with big tit dolls. However, I took some time to visit the DAZ site and yea, sure there's pushy commercialism, but did anyone check out the galleries? If you do I'm sure you will see that there are some very fine works (or you're blind). I'm not talking about the endless same-faced-big-boobed-Victorias you'll see on Renderosity. There are MANY fine works of intelligent, creative expression shown there. What this means is it does not matter where the pigments come from, but how the artist uses them. It's like a snobby artist criticizes another artists work because he did not grind his own pigments to make the paint. As a viewer, I don't care - show me the results. I say: check out the DAZ galleries. If you don't see some real creativity there, you might as well go back to accounting..... ![]() Frank |
