Warning Hello Bob

DAZ is "well known" for having VERY POORLY chosen and not-very-dedicated and also very small Beta-Testing team.

We are all aware of LEGENDARY stability of Bryce 5 (by Corel) and Carrara 5 came very close to that.

Many Bryce 5.5 users are still having lot of problems and bugs, and it looks like DAZ stopped addresing these with "promise" of Bryce 6.

My question is: did Eovia part of the team kept it's current line of the testers and rights to choose them, or DAZ is going to take over ?

I ask this becouse it is the most crucial element in releasing stable releases, which were expected and delivered per usual by the great Eovia team. Thanks for your time.

Bob, I had plans to try the Hex 2 demo before April 30th, and then purchase (if I liked it) at the $200 price. Will this still be possible for me?

I do not have plans to purchase Hex 2 if the price is over $200, which is why I ask.

Eovia has been great to me and have not disappointed so Bob I will take your word on this above quote.

Unfortunately, we cannot release the trial version until the release version is finished. When the dev team ran into issues a couple of weeks ago, the release date had to slip. This, in turn, caused the trial version date to slip.

That said, we will have a solution for you.

Same here.

Reactor, I asked this same question about an hour ago, no response yet.

Apparently if I was one of the lambs to the slaughter and just wanted to "get the software ASAP no matter the price" (as some have pretty much said), and all that mattered to me were release dates to soothe my instant gratification, I'd be responded to immediately.
Maybe if I had preordered on day one without ever even trying the software, I'd get a response to any emotional; "Will Daz love me like Eovia did question I wanted."
However, ask a direct question, regarding actually evaluating my potential $200+ purchase and I can't even get a "We're not sure yet but we will let you know ASAP."

If you check your sales records, I'm a Bryce 5.5 owner, if that helps.

Thanks Bob! I'll wait for the Hex 2 trial and trust there will be a cheaper price point for those who get in quickly after it's out.

achrystie-

It has been stated from the get go that the special pricing will be retained on hexagon for awhile. And a demo will be available prior to the end of the special pricing.

Hah.

A few minutes late on my post.

Thanks for the response Bob, as vague as it may be.

Sorry for the sarcasm but this whole thing has been like watching a train wreck.

All I can say is what I said before, I'm not buying the car without driving it, and I'm not buying the car for a higher price because you didn't "let" me drive it first.

It has?

I must have missed that Nichod, can you point me to the post/announcement that says, now that DAZ owns the product, that the pricing will stay low and a demo will be available before that pricing structure goes away?

Maybe it's my old age, or the rate at which this forum is updating.

That the Carrara team has been retained is very re-assuring but I would like to know more about the continued support for Poser import. I could never quite get into the DAZ Studio interface but I do like Poser's, along with Poser's dynamic cloth.

I'm also keen to know about the future of Hexagon. Will it remain a stand alone program or will it be integrated into Carrara?

Keep Hexagon a stand alone program !

I am (will) using it to model for Vue 5 (paid a lot of money for it, therefore will not buy Carrara).

I am sure some other users too use it to create models for other 3d renderers like 3dsMax or Maya.

Fiddle at the wake

I suppose for most of us only time will tell whether our hopes for the future of Hexegon and Carrara will be answered.

The stagnation of Bryce is a legitimate cause for concern for the users of both Carrara and Hexegon.

I also fully acknowledge the exciting potential of such a fusion.

However you have been very straight and clear with the user base with your replies and I trust this clarity of communication will continue as a new era dawns.

I myself have only been using Carrara and Hexegon for a short while and have quickly come to hold the team at Eovia France in utmost respect and affection and hope their brilliance will continue to be utilised in future development?

I posted this over in the Hex site and this forum moves too fast for me to keep refreshing it every quick moment I can steal away from my work. But hopefully I can get a quickie answer: I was planning on awaiting the demo for Hex2 seeing as I just got Hex at the end of February (just my luck... upgrade announced a week after I got it too). I was tickled pink with the $99 upgrade price, but now on the eovia site there is neither hide nor hair of this deal. Will this deal still be offered through Daz or those of us who are trying to justify a $99 expenditure SOL until this acquisition sorts itself out?

hello !!
I have a question for Bob..and the Daz crew (sorry for my english) lets go :

If 100 users asked a thing like :"We would want a function to make 3d starting from a photograph" And,if in the same time,30 users would ask you for a advanced modelisation function implementation.important for pros users ...What would you make?
Thanks

We'd make the feature that fits the product line we currently have.

We do not have a solution for making 3D starting from a photograph, so that would be a new product direction. 100 requests is not an impressive market request, and to build that would be reactive and a poor business decision.

We will remain true to what the software is built to do.

Bob

Fine Bob .. If the product line doesn't change for Hxn2 as well for Cs5 (because we know the global possibilities of our dear 2 softwares..they were until now on a good ascendant line (not talking buizness but quality)) ,it's ok.
thank you
