| Always learning new stuff ![]() | Your screen resolution / working resolution
Hi, Just a short poll, to know what is your default resolution of your monitor, which one you are working with. If you don't have the exact value in the poll (I think for 16/10 monitors, please, choose the closer one (height value), and post your exact resolution. Thanks ! |

I have 2 monitors. Primary is a 19 inch CTX S962G DVI flatpanel with 1280x1024 native resolution. Secondary is a 19 inch Envision flat Screen CRT with 1600x1200 max, but, I use it at 1280x1024. Both are on an nVidia Quadro FX500 AGP.

Hi, I have 2 LCD monitors. Both run at 1280x1024 (this is what I voted). However, I prefer 1600x 1200 and as soon as I can afford it I will upgrade to an LCD that can handle the higher res. Regards Tony |

I actually use two monitors. The primary is 1920X1200 and the secondary is 1280X1024. My video card is an ATI Radeon X700 with two outputs. This works great for so many things where before it was a crowd of overlapping windows. Highly recommended. |

Someone asked "How do you use it"?. Well you use it just like normal except when you slide your mouse over the edge, it shifts to the other monitor. It's not without a bit of a learning curve though. It takes a little getting used to the switch, and if you use a pen tablet, like me, it's even harder to grasp. You can see it like this: Did you ever learn to ride a bycycle? Remember when you first could not fathom it, and suddenly your balance kicked in and then you got it? It's kinda like that, or like swimming. You thought you would drown, yet somehow you lived and now it's like second nature. It's like that. Cheers, Frank |

Well I never did learn to swim so maybe I'm screwed... , jk. maybe I'll have to look into that. So does that typically run off of two computers, one for each moniter, or is it just one? And if so then is it two seperate desktops?

Sorry Thomas, I guess I ran off your scale. Not too surprising since I work deep into product. I got it on my own though and now sell my talents like in "Have Gun, Will Travel". I hate macs since they place so much emphasis on slick illusions and are still chunky compared to Intel PC's anyway. Why do you think Apple finally came over to Intel? Because the so-called "Power-PC" chip is a piece of poo-poo. Soon, the so-called MAC computers will all be running Windows on Intel hardware.. Why, Because it was better all along, despite the hype and the pretty interface screens. Sorry to deflate the bubble, Frank |
