I have virus checker, blockers the works and I don't get any warning about virus here at eovia3d.net. Your browser may already have one. But there is nothing at Eovia3d.net that is infected.

I use my sons site. Because of the work he does, he says it is unlikely for others to have a better secured site. The computer this end sweeps clean. The warning is of an attempt to enter my site and, as I said, it only tries to enter from your site at that thread--not other threads at your site. It's not a worry to me. It is different from the one I reported afew days ago.

bwtr: stop about that. This forum doesn't send any virus or anything like that, the problem doesn't come from Eovia3D.net at all.

And post in the good section. You were in Carrara section, not Eovia3D.net section. I moved your thread.

maybe Norton just want to stop the cookies !!! but you can't be infected when you surf on the web!! you must run a program like an .exe .pif or other to be infected !

F@B: in factn you have a lot of way to infect someone from a surf: Java applet, IE backdoor and open ports (that's why IE should be forbidden)

By the way:

This problem seems to be related to unpatched versions of Internet Explorer and the way it reacts to certain JPG files. There are ways for hackers to embed code into some picture files but most files that give this error are not hacks. Please make sure your system is patched by using Windows Update.

And, BWTR : stop using IE, but Firefox or Opera (both are free, faster, without all this security problems...)

Recently there was a new bug found in IE. (Not surprised). It allows a webpage to open other programs with commands. Imagine going to a website that opens a dos window and then starts deleting files... all possible with Internet Explorer and this new JavaScript bug.

My work tried this out on our intranet and has IE opening the calculator program automatically when you visit a page. The MIS is total freaked out about this and is trying extra hard to convert people to firefox.

Personally, I use the 1.07 version of Firefox. I love the ability to customize Firefox with free downloadable "extensions." These extensions can add web building tools, CSS modifying tools, spell checker, FTP client, IRC abilities, etc. Very good stuff.

OT: You have my website listed as a favorite.... Cool!!! :-D

ARRRGGGG Not another Firefox stooge. . Just wait it will come when the folks move their attentions to it and lets see how many holes are found in Firefox in future. (Pretty sure there have been some hehe)

Not sticking up for IE just pointing out blind faith in ANY product is destined to make folks fall. . (Not by me I hasten to add. ;( )

By the way I did use Firefox for about six months then I decided to follow my own instincts. ;) (For those who know me I am mucking around... Well a wee bit maybe ;)

Cheers

I hope you don't mind me saying this but "who in their right mind would use IE knowing that it is the #1 brower attacked by hackers and viruses". If I have no other choice but to use it IE cause of some site that only lik IE I would find another way to get to the site but ont IE. :-)

. I dont use IE myself apart from the normal usage of windows update , and any other sites that dont happen to work properly etc. I use Opera as my browser of choice. ;)

^^ We just say that someone who uses the IE is responsible himself for some matters.
