I think he's talking about Luko's avatar
http://www.eovia3d.net/customavatars/avatar322_1.gif

Nota en francais "nasty" -> "méchant" dans cette phrase ?

"The danger grows with the use."

didnt see anything about a computer threat

No to all of the above. Twice when I went to that thread I got a virus warning from my computer secutity whch named the virus which I removed from my computer. I won't risk visiting that thread until advised that it is clean--if you all do==well!

never had any problem on this thread on several computer with several antivirus.
And I don't see how a gif can have a virus.
And the attachement engine of the forum only allow pictures, movs, 3d files, zip/rar or pdf. Any .exe/pif/bat, etc.

I think you may trash your antivirus and install a new one.

Please, next time, try to be more explicit in your comments... and post in the good section (I moved your message)

Thomas. My son installed the very top quality Norton Antivirus which is constantly updated. Also the Windows antyspy which was updated yesterday. I do not fully understand it all but when a dire warning comes up on the screen and the information directs me to it I delete the offending item as detailed. When it comes up twice in the same spot I thought I should report it. If it happens again I will report it again because I would expect others to do the same. It may not have been reported well by me but it was a very serious warning.

Empty your cache, or use another Browser (not IE) and try again.
I'm runing two version of Norton myself, at home and at work and I never had such an error. And I never had any user giving this feedback on Kool avatar (and you can see, he posts a lot on the forum)

Hi,

I think your windows OS is missing critical update from Microsoft:
If you look at Symantec website :

Bloodhound.Exploit.38 is a heuristic detection for the Microsoft Color Management Module Vulnerability (as described in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-036).

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../MS05-036.mspx

So regarding that, your OS is not up-to-date, so that causes that stupid Norton message....

PS the problm is THE THREAD not an item on the thread. Two seconds before I open the thread the offending item IS NOT in my cache. ALL my Norton AND Windows are at the highest level AND updated. I repeat that a problem exists on the thread --it's a fact not an argument! Repeat--I can not believe how peculiar I find all your responses--if the thread is removed so is the problem--for the time-- but I bet someone is promoting a virus and not aware of it. I WILL NOT REPLY FURTHER!

Sorry, but this problem is specific to you and -only you-, no virus is here, a lot of computer technical users brows this forum without any problem.
This specific thread w'ont be deleted at all.
And about your cache, your screenshot of norton show it clearly : >>documents and setting.
