I think its pretty good now, except for the challenges which you know about. Other softwares will add interest. I see a lot of good tips that never make it to the tips & faq page so I have to search a lot or save the page - but not sure if theres any easy way around that

Great!
Like others here I have learnt everything I now know via this forum.
It has helped tremendously with the steep learning curve all new 3d-ers have.
Thank you!

Combination of DAZ and me? I'm not a DAZ member and I think I won't become one (or I'm not aware of that ) and this forum was and will continue as a personal website

Hey Thomas, are you going to add the different 3d packages to the English side like you did on the French side. I realy like the idea of having an XSI and ZBrush section.

Aww. I'm going to miss browsing the gallery. It was nice seeing what everyone was doing.

Alas, all good things must eventually come to an end, I guess.

=(

Dear Thomas,
I'll be very sad if you take the gallery down, I've been thinking about it and well, you have some of the best renders in town here and isn't that what we're supposed to be doing anyway is making pictures?

I'll be very sad if you take it down, I can understand if it takes up too much space or bandwidth, but if you can leave it up, please do and maybe make a rule if a picture doesn't get at least one star in the first week you can take it down or something. I don't know the best answer, but I like it a lot and it seems to me with everything going on there's enough change around the community for a while.

Respectfully,
Steven

For the gallery, I won't close it, but don't allow to post in anymore, except if the new version of the system I use is better. Perhaps you browse on it, but from the statistics I have, not a lot of suers are browsing it.
Don't be afraid, I won't erase all these creations ;)

You are a good man Thomas. ;)
There must be something similar in the php site code to an "expiration" like in sharepoint, where if something doesn't get clicked or visited, then the site will delete it automatically in 30 days or whatever you set it up to be. Maybe that will keep the gallery (and the forums for that matter) nice and manageable so it's only got the most visited stuff on it. I know the technology is getting better all the time for forum softwares... I'm trying to install Sharepoint beta 3 with asp.net 2.0 on my server this week just as a toy for myself. It pretty much manages itself.

Thanks again Thomas,

I don't always go to the gallery when I come here, but usually at least look at the first page and post a few comments and when I see Aunty post or Mox or grendel or well almost anyone else, you know... I get all teary eyed and happy inside.

Thomas, you know, something about this thread makes me think of the Gallery as a Museum.

A Museum can be so very important, even if we don't visit it every day, or week-end.

It's the times we need inspiration, another view, or enjoyment of what others have done which triggers our own work....

So I hope you find a way when storage is not so inexpensive these days, to keep the Gallery fully open.

One vote, anyway. And yes, I have visited the Gallery -- as above

Kind Regards,
Clive (Narration)
