*bump*
Just bumping this thread to say that I think the torrent works pretty decently now.
There are more seeds than peers, and shouldn't take long to download,
it is the entire 3dxtract cd.
All ezines and support files.

Considering that Carl is taking down the support files some time soon, so this will more or less be your best chance of getting them.

I hope that everyone has had a chance to download?

The torrent works good when everyone stays on. If you run nothing but the 3dXtract_all.torrent... everything will be fine. You may have firewall issues as well as finding the right application to use .. looks like utorrent is a reliable one for this torrent.

Some people have received the torrent and download everything very quickly where others have not. If you are having problems and don't wish to continue the torrent, I have contacted Thomas and he promises to make the files available in the near future. It may choke the server, so who knows how long he will be able to offer them. Good luck in getting them any way you can.

Thanks
Carl

Yes, Carl, thank you. I had bought several issues last year, but it is very good to have the advice contained in the contributor articles of the whole set, now that it is 'past its time'.

I hope you can find it easy to apologise now to Ringo as he asked, in an email, for the way you got angry and so acted at the time.

I didn't like what you did either, but several have done similar 'clever' things, and it's time to let it be forgotten now.

So everyone can talk, and so we have the strength of the community.

Kind regards,
Narration

p.s. for anyone still downloading, or considering it. I couldn't change my firewall, so starting the download and continuing rates were both very slow - from 1KB/s to a bit more than 10KB/s (!).

So, I just left BitTorrent working on it over the weekend, and by Sunday night, all half-GB was there. Patience is a virtue, and you help others even if firewalled, as long as you are downloading - it uploads to them too.

Well, I've managed to upload at 40KB at top speed, altogether I've uploaded over 1.18GB...
Download I got about 50-55KB peek speed...
Behind a (proxy and )firewall too, but works just fine with port forwarding(kind of scary to forward ports though), only thing I get lousy transfer speeds with is MSN Messenger file transfers.
