I agree 100%, I realize that some people like Poser but I detest even seeing it.

I do not buy premade content.. nor will I ever... WTF! I am accualy quite steamed at the moment.
I know this is throwing stones at some users, but I have a huge problem with the "premade content and hit render" system. A big WTF!

I never used Poser for it's premade content, but I have never been able to grokk the extreme hatred that is leveled at those who choose to use Poser content.

I mean, aren't we all guilty of the same type of 'crime' by creating content using software we didn't code ourselves?

Im not sure what you are trying to say... but creative "artistic" work should not be purchased off a shelf that any monkey can use. I make all of my own models, textures.. etc. This is my creative tallent going into my artwork.. not Billy Bob's character with John Doe's textures and Sally's scene slapped together, then hitting one button to render out the scene and call it art.

I dont hate these people... but please, Eovia and spent the last 6 years developing this software to make it easier for true artists to create with. Why should any Eovia artist want a company like DAZ to buy this company (and we all know this is going to happen) and turn its product line into premade content render engines?

I just viewed the eovia site and Amapi is no longer represented. I just bought Amapi Pro to stay with eovia product group rather than Rhino and now I may have a dead end tool. They could ahve at least made the tutorial video available for download before pulling the plug.

If this is so and they only have an agreement to develop Hex to 2.1 in place I would like to see Laurent and the whole dev team leave, make their own modeling app combining the best of both and kick ass.....

It's almost funny how much they defend their dress-up-the-barby-doll/weekend-cookie-cutter-artist efforts and dare to call it a PIPE-LINE ?

One of the main reasons I deleted my gallery on Renderosity and left it forever

Oh, and one other thing, does anybody here think that an artist that is looking to make a respectable name for themself is the CG community would want their name in anyway associated with DAZ? Not me my friends... what am I suppost to say on my resume when getting a job in computer graphics... yeah, I use DAZ software for my creations.... HA HA HA... I DONT THINK SO!

Hex is still there, they have to recoup some of the development investment.

Hasnt the deadline for the announcement from eovia past?
and still no word from eovia at all ?
They only changed a few items on the website as you have shown but no announcement!
Seams like Daz took over and so eovia no longer cares for its users??
when I hex being released ? ect.ect
I am not happy about this and the future looks bleak
maybe time for me to take another look at lightwave

There's nothing like making all your models yourself. Getting asked, "did you make that?", when using a morphed DAZ Victoria for example and then you are finding yourself answering, "well, äh yes, kind of...", doesn't really make you proud. Well, it's up to the individual how they can live with that. The only thing I hope, is that semi-pros don't spoil the price for real professional work, just like it happenend in Webdesign, where Frontpage- or NetObjectsFusion-Webdesigners have spoiled the market for those making professional coded webpages.

I thought this was the "Eovia To Make Announcement On April 25" thread not the Snobs'R'Us thread!

Have you actually read what some of you are posting? How condescending can you get? I'm actually surprised some of you haven't walked into more lamposts through looking down your noses too much.

As someone learning to model through Hexagon I am saddened to see such acidic comments aimed at those of us who aren't as adept at the 3D creative process and have to rely on parts made by others. The composition is still us. The camera angle is still us. The lighting settings are still us.

Do you go through schools and laugh at the students artwork because it doesn't match your own?

Actually I am a 3D newbee and I agree with the others. Its not snobish its pride in saying I made that, ALL of that, not well I purchased the model and swang the camera around.

Thanks for telling us this because we would have never noticed the text you removed. As for the announcement it looks like we had to hear it from others.

Why do I feel like I was duped and made a bad investment ?
That is a serious question
