This is strange... I downloaded Hexagon 1.2 updater to the same folder where my Hexagon program is installed. When I click on the Hexagon updater it says "Hexagon not installed - exiting" Hard to believe since I have been using Hexagon all morning, and just about every day. What should I do now... I hope I don't have to go through the hassle of reinstalling Hexagon... what a drag. thanks Nate. Windows 2000 pro Internet Explorer 6 |

Do you have any regist database cleaning software? This error occures when the register database of windows has been edited. Puting the patch on the same folder won't be of any help since Hexagon is looking for the database... Then, yes, you have to install it again. (I never had this problem on my 3 computers and you can't imagine how much Hexagon version I have on my computers ;) |

Nate, Getting the same error on my WinXP PC also. Thomas, Never had any register cleaning software on this computer. So must be something else. Also you will see I posted a bug report in the bug forum. I'm having an issue with updates to the OSX version as well. Tim |

I have that script issue with IE under XP, while Firefox 1.5 is fine...

That's great news, the upgrade does address some issues I'd been experiencing. Also, a quick note (especially to new Carrara users), training for Carrara 5 is now available on lynda.com (trainer: Jack Whitney) |

Ok - that explains the VB script issue. How about the "Hexagon not installed" issue in WinXP. Those of us with that problem all state it's installed - in fact I've been working in v.1.2.0 all day. Are those with script issue able to install upgrade? Also is there nobody besides myself also using OSX on iMac. Mac is another problem altogether, see my post above. IMO the upgrade was not ready for primetime. On a good note, C5 and C5Pro updates worked great!! Tim |

| Hexagon Update in OSX
Hi All, I originally posted this in the bug section of the forum but I'm not getting any response. I'd really like to hear from anyone else who may be having the same problem. When I apply the 1.2.1 patch in OSX 10.4.2 it screws up my Hexagon installation. The program will launch but the following results: 1. question marks in place of tool icons along the top of screen - tooltips will display but tools do not function. 2. Mac menu does not display although there is a space for it above the program window. 3. Menu's are not complete and prefixed by two letter codes and do not function. i.e. bt+menu name etc. 4. Tray's are dispalyed but void of content. 5. Only a few tools at the bottom of the screen appear. It's as if the patch is replacing the application file as opposed to updating it. I run the installer as you nomally would and everything appears to go ok. I uninstalled Hexagon and reintalled twice and then patched and got the same results. Also tried deleting preference file before starting Hexagon right after installing patch. Till the same results. I had to leave for work so did not have time to make a screen shot. Hopefully someone else will have the same problem or be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong with the patch installation. Tim |

Sounds a lot like some problems with Hexagon 1.0 on my machine (german system). I had to switch languages system wide or in the Hexagon preferences, or dig into the Hex-package and "create" german resources, or wait for eovia to release a patch (which they did, eventually). FWIW, the 1.2.1 update went smoothly here, though I'm not running 10.4.x.

This is all just too weird. I had no problem upgrading to Hexagon 1.21 (on a G5-2x1.8 GHz /OSX 10.4.3). But I've been unable to install the Carrara 5.02 Pro upgrade. The C5.02 installer says it's installing/upgrading in a "Carrara Pro.app" folder (which doesn't exist) but it won't let me select any other folder, like my Carrara 5 Pro folder in my Applications folder. (Does it matter what version of Stuffit I'm using?) If you've reinstalled, and thrown away preferences, etc., on OS X, just a reminder to update your permissions. I hope this all gets resolved soon. |
