I think you may be correct about the render-time calculation, which while less than ideal is still more useful than the (literal) hack Raydream/Carrara implementation. So long as the new version has reliable results it will still be a vast improvement. It's is also not terribly uncommon for a person to not really use Booleans, especially with bad implementation. They are mostly useful for mechanical/manufactured modeling (I've done a hella lot of sci-fi modeling,) with limited if any use in organic modeling, and when dynamic can be used for various animation purposes such as cutaways and burrowing or what have you.

Herm, another ID era feature it would be nice to see would be spline interpolation control. Ah well, one can dream--that is unless it got put in recently and I missed it. Very nice for shortcutting to low polly from spline, surface fidelity is seemingly useless.

Are the current plugins going to have to be rewritten for carrara5?

Ok I detached the skeleton, and the figure deleted, I think, but how to delete the skeleton now? I am sorry to ask so much. Carrara 5 seems a bit slow when working with the poser figures.

hey guys, i have rendered an animation, but the dreaded shimmer is very present. Any way to lessen this? Uncompressed frames imported into after effects? I am hoping for a simpler way than that.

Is Carrara 5 aware of the second core in a dual core processor?

yes, Carrara is aware of dual/quad/n processors, or cores.

For your animation "dreaded shimmer", I don't understand what it means, I won't be able to help you on that.

Tell me how Thomas. I am sorry. Just an excited new carrara user. I am sad to switch from cinema 4d, but carrara is saving me too much time;)
Can some one tell me a list of shader packs that I can buy that will be compatible with v5?
Thanks,
Jarrett

I have a shader pack available. Simple Shaders. But I've been slowly revamping my site so it will be a little while before its available again.

Thanks Nichod. I have been looking at your site hoping that it will be available. It is good to hear that it is coming. Maybe you could just get the payment section working!
Thanks,
Jarrett

Thomas, I didnt even know there was such a thing. Thanks so much.
The more I use it, the more I see that carrara 5 has too many benefits to
use anything else. I love it! If someone will add wind to the trees, then vue 5 wouldnt would be a non-issue for most.

jtbullet-

I'm hoping for it to be back up this week. But I have a busy schedule so we shall see. Also have some video tutorials in the works on character animation and some texturing stuff as well.
