Bug fixes as well were done. Its unfortunate the path its going but why moan about it. The rest of the tools still work well. I don't actually see a problem...but that could be me trying out my new positivity techniques. ![]() Cheers Mike R

Yes, and keep in mind that DAZ will give current owners of Hexagon 2.2 a free upgrade - but just for a limited time. So read your DAZ/PC emails - scroll to the bottom for news like this. Or look into the DAZ/Commons forum about the March sales. Jacqueline |

How about wait and see before the baby is born, furthermore this is a point upgrade. Hex 3 maybe great. Everyone predicting the death of Hex seems were wrong (me being one of the most vocal, obnoxious, doubters). Great hopes for Hex that I believe are very reasonable. One more thing—financial POWER: Does anyone realize how much cash DAZ pulls in? Whether true or not, I was told by a DAZ employee that there are approx. 750,000 platinum club memberships. Well, for fun, cut that crazy number in half and multiply by the cost of a monthly membership. Do you see what DAZ is financially now? ![]() Yes, my friends, with all that cash month in and month out, DAZ could develop Hex into orbit if they choose to spend what it takes. Think of how many 3D companies DAZ could aquire if they wished. Hope for the best because it is a real possibility. So the 'NUMERAL' 5 is only the difference. ![]() How do you know? Work for DAZ or are you on the programming team? Just curious. The post seems kinda looney to me. I called DAZ and they thought it was looney too. Very sorry if I am wrong or hurt your feelings. ![]() Peace, Last edited by steama; 19th March 2008 at 18:58. | |

What puts me off is the way DAZ do things. I spent quite a bit of money on Carrarra and to find that I could have had C5PRo for FREE I feel belittles my investment. C5 standard maybe but the Pro version? It was the same feeling with the $1.99 Hexagon ![]() Then there is the point order bug. This should have been fixed straight away. Also there is the confusion over the next update to Hex and the lack of communication in general. So, although Hex is still a good modeler, I'm looking at other options now (MoI and Modo are top of the list). Maybe I'll go that route, maybe I won't but Hex will still be on my hard drive and, like Mark Bremmer said in another thread, will likely still get used for some things.

The new stuff does not do a thing for me. I am just so nervous about going back to Hex if the jamb/crash problems have not been properly fixed. I was so dissapointed that I went to Silo, but the current version is still as buggy as Hex2.2.. Thankfully, between MoI and the Carrara6Pro Vertex room and 3DCoat(brush) I have a pretty good modelling combination at low cost. I dont think I can go through the change back to Hex untill I hear reports that it is, finally, to the working way it deserves. |

| Almost missed this update... This is good news. Cant wait to give the old girl another whirl around the dance floor. ![]() Downloading now. It was quite a convoluted process to find the link, why do they make it so difficult?? Heres how in case anybody else is having difficulties. I had to go to my downloads history page in my account and reset the hex2 purchase line, whereupon I got an email from daz when they had provided a link directing me to my available downloads page. This was for a second 1.99 licence I bought when the going was good, the original Eovia licence is still unavailable in my account but I believe if you contact the commercial sales of daz with proof of your purchase then they will give you a link to the update. The daz bridge doesnt interest me (yawn) only the bug fixes, but Im curious about the second life stuff I hope its not too intrusive or Ill revert to 2.2. Bummer about the online help too, though I saw on the french side there is a download help zip available. Does anyone know if the downloaded help reverts the help callout from 2.5?PS For what I mainly do (poly character modelling) hex is still the most intuitive tool Ive used. |
