If I will order this magazine, it would be about the same $30-$40 (with delivery).
I hate you, Shorty!

It makes tiling textures out of just about anything fairly easily. Very handy when you need them, if you get 3dWorld disk it's worth installing.

I bought some tiled textures from Content Paradise just a few weeks ago, and I think that these were made with this imageSynth program. I found that the repeats of elements within the tiles were too obvious. Maybe I am just too much of a Photoshop user and do it by 'hand' than do this with software, even that can take ages compared to this little piece of software.....

Actually imageSynth is a plugin for Photoship.
You can find some info here
http://www.luxology.com/store/imageSynth.aspx
and some videos here
http://www.luxology.com/community/tutorials/
and then decide do you need it or not.

BTW. ZBrush also has some dirty tricks for seamless texturing in its sleeve.

Bought ZBrush - so now the money is spent - need to get to work with all the software that I already have.... Will keep me busy for quite some time!

Thanks for the links and info, though!
