I really like (no love) this update for me Carrara is running much better and faster. DAZ has proven better than competent with this update. I am now sold that Carrara will thrive in DAZ hands. (maybe not HEX but that is going to almost be totally in Carrara eventually anyway). It looks like early Bryce developers will finally see that super 3D application they dreamed of (with a full kitchen sink of features).

NOTE: I said nothing about perfection (what's perfect in this world besides my wife?), however, the DAZ Carrara team is as excellent as it ever was with Eovia and maybe even better IMHO. I see Carrara just getting better in the hands of DAZ. After all it is the same development team that DAZ aquired from EOVIA (and now they have money) --- of course Carrara will continue to live and even be better than it did in the past.

As far my download went all I needed to do was login and go support and download. No reseting of anything. I guess I was just lucky.

Have fun with this update. On my PC, which is an over-kill monster, I turned every render option on I could to slow down Carrara renders so I could guage if there was a difference. I tried not to blink because I wanted to see the process. The problem was I kept blinking and missed seeing the render process all together, hehe. Whatever the reason, for me the render speed is now silly because it is so rediculously FAST it is shocking!

DON'T BE A DUMB BUNNY & MISS-OUT ON THIS SUPER UPDATE. Man the possible death kneel of Carrara was WAY, WAY, off the mark.

What are you basing this on, did you use a standard test scene in 6.x and then in 6.1? What is the time difference, my imagination is pretty rediculous as well.

Well...it's my machine I guess then (seriously). My point is Carrara is screaming by my standards and for my needs. It does not need to suit others as far as I am concerned. My comments are just my personal experience with all due respect.

My favorite version of Carrara thus far and DAZ is doing and excellent with her. (feel free to disagree. I dig the action.)

No dig or action I was just curious, I had not tested it before I updated it either.

Grendel, you are tops in my book. IMHO you add so much to everything here and your knowledge of 3d has helped so many of us I would not want to count. Respect.

I know nothing much about the innards but this Carrara update is functioning the best ever for me. Thank you Carrara team!

Look at my avatar, I am not capable of being very serious Mr. Grendel, besides being a big fan of what I have read from your posts.

I love it when people and pals play around the cabeza simply to generate controversy IMHO. it creates fertile earth for the very best ideas and information to grow. Kind of like asking the new guy a question in a strange way, that you already know the answer, just to find out what you are dealing with. Damn I hope I still have a job tomorrow. It's not wise to ask the CEO certain things in certain ways when you are a certain way.

Hey, Steama, nice to know the update is good for you. Not put it through it's paces yet (busy learning MoI at the moment )

Looks like there is an updater available now, instead of having to download the whole thing again.

Don't use studio but this looks like good stuff for C7. And I was thinking of jumping ship to Modo or C4D. Now I'm not so sure and I maybe should save my money

By the time these are implemented Daz will have a sale that makes it to attractive not to upgrade. Multi Pass is a great addition.

6.1.1 was a slight bump up from 6.1, came very quickly afterward.

And, because of a couple of glaring mistakes, 6.1.2 should be out within days or the lid will explode!
