I am awaiting 9.5 as well, I've never really warmed up to lightwave but they are doing really well with their updates in v.9.

Sure, public beta is gonna be available in a few weeks from now, they are talking about radiosity being rendered about 40 % faster as well, which is very promising, we will see, back to those damn tutorials now LW should be delivered by UPS tomorrow morning, so I better get ready

Hi,

It sounds like good news in the lw world : Fprime upgrade, and cool new features in LW... Though FiberFX was quite needed because several cheaper applications got it for now.
Lights and radiosity seem pretty cool too.

Some screenshots from the beta-testers in a looong post :

It remembers me C6 buzz on Daz's forums ;)

I have 9.3.1 sitting there in its box in the book shelf after removing it from the computer in frustration.
May be easier if you had never worked with Carrara. ( And anyone who complains about Carrara6 crashing problems aint lived!)

Lone Gunman,

I too have just ordered Lightwave and it will be delivered by UPS on Monday as well.

I have wanted Lightwave for some time but held back until now. I have been testing 9.3 as a trial on my mac and not had a single crash with it. For me at least it seems to be very stable. I had refused to buy it until I could test in on my machine.

Looking forward to it arriving.

Cheers

Yeah you're right folks i sold it and 3 or 4 weeks later i was "forced" to buy it again since a project i had to do required it !

As for LightWave 9.5 you'll have to trust me on this one but a "small genius" told me that it would one hell of an upgrade !
So congrats to all the buyers of LightWave you shouldn't be disapointed !

Cheers,
Laurent aka Tartiflette

P.S. : And yes i do own Carrara too !

I know, you found yourself with to much free time on your hands and the outside was not enough to tempt you off the computer because you been bitten by the bug that bites us all; the promise of a brave new tomorrow encapsulated in software nirvana. In short I'm jealous - it's been ages since I had a fix of the high and the sinking lows of the tempestuous romance that is a new toy.

Just say the words " I'm LoneGuman and I'm a software junkie" it's ok your amongst friends. :-)

Best wishes to you fella - it's been a while. I think you'll love Taron's Gnomon DVD on his approach to organic modeling with LW as a partner for your new purchase.

xx

A present from your wife - now I'm really jealous, a new toy and a woman that understands you and your needs.

Look forward to your work when you get to grips with it.
