I really should have opted for Modo I am thinking as I wait for the C6 Vertex room to work again.

ps. I downloaded 450MB in 53 seconds the other day! Have NO idea why it was not hours longer than that as normal!

Yeah, that was one of the reviews I read as well.

Mark did mention the 20KB download times as well in the article, so I'm pretty sure that was before 302 was released publicly.

Normally, my download times are blazingly fast, seeing 800kb to 1000kb pop up on the screen for download times make my heart sing. Seeing 1980s download times make me say, "wtf."

I've never had such slow downloads as 20kbs from Luxology. Have you tried to use the bittorrent download?

I think you want to go to the evaluations page, since you are evaluating a version: /user/account/production_evaluations.aspx

This from Modo Support page:

"Very soon. At the moment we are reserving website bandwidth for existing modo customers. Our goal is to have the trial version up within 7-10 days of the shipment of modo 302."

Or, in other words, my $25.00 is on hold for about 2 weeks.

Couerl, you should wake up now, modo exist Amapi does not. Now back on topic,

My download took 17 minutes. I like Mark's review of the Modo and I was surprise to read it, because I thought he was a pure carrara user

Yes. No point in beating a dead horse. All i remember of the Amapi 7.52 demo was constantly crashing. Such a tempramental creature, she was just like her younger sister Hexagon. But even more crazy!!!... When i think that i already understood how to work in Hexagon and Carrara, I wonder how 3 programs from the same team can feel and operate so drastically different. As they say in South Carolina "this makes me say WTF"

I like it when bugs or new plugins suggestions are fixed/supplied within 24 hours (or, even 1 hour!) from those couple of apps suppliers who I must not name??

-ash-, Mark beats both of us.

Wesgraphics, as you heard already, you just pick a wrong time. I had to wait maybe for 1 month for 301 trial because of the madness like that. And if you want to know what really bad service is, try Softimage.

Brian, if those guys are so good in fixing bugs, why the bugs exist in their products after release?

What do you think of Houdini Apprentice? It has the almost all the features of the $4000.00 application but limited in movie size dimensions and of course, non-commercial. $99.00

No, it has the almost all the features of the $8000.00 application (actually, before March 2007 the price was $17000 per seat).

I think Houdini Apprentice and Houdini Apprentice HD a good opportunity to us, hobbyists. However, Houdini is not too good in modeling/texturing/sculpting, and as I can see, it is widely used in conjunction with Zbrush and even modo.
