i guess DAZ is really confident that C6 is worth upgrading to. This sounds a bit risky on their part...

What what about the shipping fees? I risk to get a total bill even bigger then buying the upgrade from the daz website.

Well, even if it doubles the price, i think that getting Carrara 5 Pro for let's say 25€ is really worth it. But it's true you can't say its really free anymore !

Edit : To answer your last question yo can have a look at the C6Pro feature list and remove the what's new section of C6Pro and you'll have a good idea of what's in it.

Cheers,
Laurent aka Tartiflette

There are additional fees that are much more then the simple double pricing, I guess.

Is it fully free or you have to subscribe to the member platinium to have the serial number or a stuff like that?
I don't really understand the fnancial strategy about that. If you are not interested in the content market, you don't really need to upgrade to C6 (pro or non pro) and then, they may lose some sells.
But for those who don't have it, it's a good opportunity to have it!

From the site:

Quote:
The prices displayed on the website include all delivery costs.
This means 10 pounds for a back issue delivered outside the UK, not 25 or whatever - nobody has to miss out.

Thomas, from what i have read on DAZ forum, it seems you don't have to do anything to get your serial number, but i could be wrong...
As i already own Carrara 5Pro i didn't go further to see the exact term of contract, but as Transient says it's probably too good to miss out.
And you're right about the strategy it is a little bit unclear.
But we are now aware of the somehow strange marketing startegies coming from DAZ sometime.

Cheers,
Laurent aka Tartiflette

Why ? for me carrara 5 pro for free means sooner or later an upgrade to carrara6 for a cheap price, but then new customers will be buying Vicky, clothes and so to have a full use of carrara6...a lot a c6 new features are content oriented, and the real money is in the pocket of content users

Until some years ago , the main english and american magazines were available in the big newstands in the center of Rome.
Right now they are replaced by smaller structures , all built in the same way and without the foregners magazines. I am not pleasent with this change that does not make any sense.

Hey Affuso, i think the magazine is for sale on their website at 9£ for European customers and you have to add another 4 or 5£ for the shipping which makes 14£ or roughly 19~20€...
It's a really good deal if you ask me !

Just got my issue. I can't believet they are given 5Pro for free! I own standard so "yahoo" for me, but I agree in that I don't understand the strategy? I am one of those that did NOT upgrade because I felt the added features didn't warrant the upgrade price. Hmmmm, strange in deed!

The funny stuff would be to have some people asking Daz : "Hey man , where is this character in the content library coz i can't find it : this one is cool"

Really amazing Pete!

Forgive me for jumping in with a dumb question: do you thing this nearly free Carrara is better then free Kerkythea?

Carrara could be better because of the tree lab an terrain editor?
