Thomas asks that I post something ;) -- perhaps you too have seen such a message when quiet too long. Here's an article from the New York Times, which gives some interesting hints (and one or two probable misunderstandings) about a new film about to be created. It's science fiction, and has an alien race which is to be entirely done by CG methods. It sounds pretty interesting - what do you think? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/08/mo...d-cameron.html Regards, Narration |

This sounds very interesting. The plot doesn't immediately appeal (shades of Starship Troopers), but the promise of an entire virtual cast of Aliens with a novel camera technology and WETA collaboration is exciting. |

Well, the reason I posted it here is that I think the 'entire cast of Aliens' is being done with computer graphics -- probably a more sophisticated version of the animated imaginations so often constructed here. The use of humans is to give the animation tracks, presumably in the usual way with markered suits - this is one of the points where it looks like the author doesn't understand too well. If she is right on another part, the film is to be shown in 3D also - more connection to things people model here, and likely many of theme to be used as it sounds this film goes farther than Gladiator at scene invention. Anyway, interesting to see how it will work out, am pretty sure. Kind regards, Narration |
