Terragen™ 2 Technology Preview to be released December 15th, 2006

Terragen 2 technology preview is supposed to be posted today, December 15th. Terragen has from the get go provided a stunning natural renderer, but the interface was very primitive and there was no native ability to add vegetation. As of today (promised at any rate) that all changes, plus the volumetric clouds appear to be over-the-top gorgeous.

I'm not that impressed. I put a few hours into working with it. Found it akward to use. And slow in all regards.

I wrote about it a bit here: http://www.blendernation.com/2006/12...now-available/

Hello Nichod, unfortunately I agree - at this point. This program has a ways to go to be usable, but the renderer is very good. The interface is an improvement over the past, but still not 'modern'.

I have just ugraded to Vue6 infinite, so terragen's gathering dust again.

I'd say Vue 6 has its better points. Being more actively developed and supported is one key thing. And there are quite a few other things would be my guess.
