Material window.

Hello I don't know if it is a bug or just intergrated some where else but in Hexagon 2 I am missing the material window. I have the shading domains but not the material as in a lot of tutorials used.
I am new to HEXagon. It is great programm with good tutorials easy to learn. Also very european build.

Resetting doesn't help.

Thanks for replying so quick, but it doesn't solve my little problem, I am still missing the material window. Perhaps it is because I am using Win XP64, never mind first I will do only modeling with the programm, Have a nice day !!

Do you read the manual about shading domains and/or materials ? All is explained on it...

No, I use Hex2 with WinXP64 and work nice.

Try:
Goto the "Window" menu and activate the box "Material".

I have this problem as well. I played with Hexagon demo when it first came out a while back & was reasonably familiar with the interface so I expected to see a material window this time around with Hex2. Nope, not a sausage. Going to make Hex pretty irrelevant if I can't apply materials.

Is this a bug in the Daz download perhaps? I got the first demo from the old Evovia site.

Enclosed a jpegs of my screen.

Sorry someone is going to have to explain this to me. I have cheked the windows tab and the materials tab has been checked (ticked) but for some reason i still cannot find the materials window.
I have to the right of my screen the Properties, Scene & Dynamic Geomatry Windows but NO Material Window.
I have read the manual and still i can apply a texture but i cannot have a seperate Material Window on the screen.
Every time i click on reset preferances i get a box saying Relaunch application to validate.
I cannot do this as my Hex 2.1 is an electronis download and not a disc.
Help please this is frustrating now.

Simon

There is a little tab with a blue arrow on the left side of the Hexagon working space. Click that little tab and the materials window should open.

Hi,

I am also having the problem that the material window does not appear.
I have reset my preferences and I have checked the necessary options in the Window-menu.

Can anyone please help me with this.

Thanks...

Sometimes I lose the dg window. It comes back when I choose "Normal" from the "Window" menu. Maybe try that?

Hi and thanks for the replies.

As this was my very first post, it took a while before this post has appeared because it had to be moderated.

And in the meantime I already found the solution.
Somehow the confirmation popup panel appeared offscreen (something to do with dual monitor setup) : so I thought I had reset my preferences while in reality I had not.

Once I discovered that, I was able to truly reset my preferences and upon restart the materil window was there again.

Thanks and see ya, Dominiek.

What's in a name ?

I liked the combination of 3D and the 3 first letters of my name, which together sound like "freedom".
But apparently I'm not the only one using it, which is a pitty.

Hello-

I'm having the same problems everyone else here is having: I can't find the material window in Hex 2. I've tried about everything (after reading all the posts up to here) but I still can't find it. I've reset my preferences multiple times. I know that checking the material checkbox from the Window tab should pull it up, but it just doesn't work. I've pulled out the tab on the left, but it's totally blank. I guess I'm really messed up. If someone can point me to a solution soon, that would be great. Thanks.
