You're kidding Jack Russel, aren't you? XP is based on NT and is perfectly capable of multitasking. I routinely run Softimage XSI, Photoshop, Firefox and iTunes at the same time. Hex certainly shouldn't demand more than XSI of the system...

I can not believe these odd replies. IF multitasking was a problem the problem relates to a fault in the Hex2.01 update----NOT my computer.

That multitasking does not work well in Windows could only come from someone not up to date with Windows---like years

Said with absolute authority that covers a lot of users.

I beg to differ with you.

I have used windows systems and mac systems side by side for years (like since 1990). These were well muscled and finely tuned machines... either platform... running those kind of applications (long before Hex arrived) was asking for problems on every front, including the graphics redrawing... (what you are seeing in your first image).

You may run some of them for a while, but you will see (as you did) that before long the system resources dwindle drastically, resulting in the kind of glitches you are encountering. This is not a Hexagon problem. Hexagon does like a lot of resources (and deserves them). So does Painter, Photoshop, and for that matter Microsoft Word - used for some email programs - is a big resource hog.

I won't post all the applications I use here.
If you are interested, go to = my tools

One other thing that can bog a system is having large wallpapers and animated screen savers.... Go clean and lean and get the work done.

My standard openings can be Poser,PhotoshopCS, IllustratorCS,Carrara5Pro and Hex 1 and I have worked with this type of load concistently for at least 2 years without problems. These current problems came with a vastly smaller load. The load WITH Poser IS HUGE! It's NOT an excess load on the computer.
