For everyone with a iMac G5 with a geforce FX 5200 64mb card,my problem is solved by setting the display option to "lowest" in the preference panel.
Now it works much better. And it also calmed me down a bit
Altough there are still some issues with the display especialy switching views in the control panel.

Did you try painting on an UV-unfolded model? And how did you do that, if?

Thanks in advance

i haven't gotten that far yet,i haven't figured out yet how to use paint.A least i'm now able to open a model from the content or make a primitive without getting strange lines and i can switch smoothing settings easily.
And i can use the smooth geomtry tools.I won't say everything works as it should yet,but at least i'm getting to work this app a little better.

Same for me... everything seems buggy, unfinished, unclean. Selecting objects in the list, painting, uv, saving and exporting (seems to work every second or third time, then again it does just nothing)... I too have gone back to 1.2 for now.

Hi Jack,

I can't find that "lowest" option in the preference panel of Hex2.
Where exactly is it?
Is it called "lowest" in the preference menu?

Hi Jack,

Mabey if you get lucky with UV-unfold and painting you can post your workflow?
I will do the same, if I get lucky.

Alvast bedankt!
Thanks in advance!

It helps a little, but still having problems. It must have to do with the current Hex 2 bugs. I am hoping that with the update coming up, all these isues will get resolved.

My system consists of:
- Mac G5 1.8 Dual
- 1.5 Gig RAM
- nVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 64 MB card
- OSX Tiger 10.4.6 (fully up-to-date)

All the other apps that I use work well with my system. ZBrush 2, Carrara 5 Pro, Silo, etc.

.

Folks,
DAZ/HEX/Eovia are NOT on the same page. I just a responce that my mac spec should work. This is what I sent in to DAZ tech support:

"Just waiting to upgraded to HEX2. I have an emac / 1.25 ghz/ 768RAM/ OSX
TIGER. The emac uses a ATI Radeon 9200 video card with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM
(AGP 4X) card. Can you tell me if this will run Hex2? Thanks."

Obviously this is not true. Sure I can open HEX 2 but that is not the same as running it.

After what TUCKERSAUR stated I'd like to know what Mac spec they used to "beta" test HEX2--if at all!?!?! There are too many issues going wrong for macs.

Thomas - switching to display list didn't change a thing. Besides I have a very fast graphics card - VBO should be no problem for it. I changed to display list, closed and relaunched h2. Still can't see what I am painting in real time.

Any other suggestions?

even removing the displaylist (then, no optimisation) ?
(you have lags or see anything? check your UVs and texture too)
