Exporting from Hex 2 as OBJ file or Carrara file not the same

Hi,

If I export the same model as an obj file then any smoothing I have applied to the model is exported properly. However if I export a native Carrara file the smoothing is not exported. I am talking about brush smoothing NOT sub-d.

I have included a screen shot of both exports in Carrara.

The one on the left is the Carrara format file and the one on the right is what it should have looked like. The one on the right is an obj file.

Cheers

I can see why now. The Carrara file actually exports with the subd levels intact and I had painted the smoothing on level 3.

Need to think how to get round that

Cheers

Well ,maybe there is a problem of creased edges export to .car.. ,anyway go to the VM

menu/model/ smooth edges

Or you can do it as well from the Scene room

menu/edit/smooth objects ---> option = change edge creasing
