Hexagon 2 relative/absolute mode

Can someone explain this? The manual says on page 33:
By default, Hexagon works in Relative mode: all new values are defined by the previously entered values. For certain uses, it is necessary to define an origin to your 3D universe, which is by default in the center of the horizontal grid guide, and inputting a value in reference to this point is referred to as Absolute mode.
Changing from Relative mode to Absolute mode:
  • In the Scene properties palette, a Relative/Absolute icon lets you choose the mode of measurements feedback and input values.
But on the Scene Properties palette there is no icon but a checkbox which says "Absolute/relative mode" and the tooltip says something like "Work with absolute or relative mode"

This makes no sense to me at all. If it is ticked does it use relative or absolute?

You should check the mode you want to use, it should be easy to see how the values change for a object when you switch.

Thanks for that. I was looking at this panel as the manual said Scene Properties.
