| Model Import Crash - Hexagon 2
Hey folks, Having a bit of a problem here... No matter what I do, I cannot import or open existing models in Hexagon 2. I get an immediate crash !!!1. I've tried to open the models that come with Hex2 = crash 2. I've tried to open an Object (.obj) file created with XSI = crash 3. I've tired to open random .3ds files = crash I have successfully opened the objects included in the "computer" folder (in the "models" folder), and I can open .hxn files that I've saved from Hex2. This makes Hex2 completely useless to me since I bought it for painting, texturing, and displacing existing models. I have a brand new computer (less than a week old). - AMD X2 3800+ - 2 Gigs Ram - XFX 7600 GT XXX video card with the latest drivers. Can someone confirm that they can open files in Hex2? Any help is much appreciated! -Laroy |

Hey LaRoy. Most of my serious models with a lot of polys previously made with Amapi do crash Hexagon, either hex 1 or 2 using the OBJ format... Otherwise the same files using a3d (amapi Designer native format) runs smooth...

Hey guys, Thanks for the replys. It sucks going to bed with an issue unresolved, but finally, I just had to give up... Well, after a good night of sleep, and working around the house all day, I had plenty of time to think about the issue. It occured to me that there might be an issue with my preferences or something since I set all of my menus/property boxes up on my second screen. Well, that did the trick! I deleted my preference files (in my documents> % >application data> eovia>hexagaon 2) and it fixed the problem that I was having. Now I'll try to set my layout back the way that I want it and see if it causes problems again. Thanks for the help! LaRoy |
