This should help Thomas

As Thomas is creating a tutorial DVD for hexagon 2 and by the looks of things plenty folks are ordering Hexagon 2 maybe we could help him by making sure folks are aware that a dvd is coming.

Just a thought that might bring a smile to him and maybe others doing similar.

Cheers

Mike R

Yes, these DVDs won't be official ones (or perhaps DAZ will ask me..?)
The will be expected for september 1st.
Two DVDs are almost done (about Hexagon 1.x, with everything working the same in Hexagon 2) and perhaps an Hexagon 2 and Carrara 5 DVDs will also available.
I'll post some news soon.

Well, at least DAZ could probably distribute them for you, which could be a big help for you so you can focus on making more DVDs ;D

I look forward to them, I like your edge extrusion style of modeling and it is rare to see it in action.

Will the French versions be released sooner? French is not a problem in Montreal

Can you give a clue about the type of projects you will show? e.g. Building a car, Poser models etc?

Indeed.... I will be looking forward to these DVD's Thomas.
Perhaps DAZ would be willing to distribute these DVD's for you. It could broaden the market for sales of your DVD's.

Well it is a perfect time for your DVD tutorials Thomas. The Hexagon userbase ws just double in a 24hr period. So the more customers you will have.

The user base probably MORE than doubled Nichod! Thomas, I don't think you have to sell it as a platinum club item. I'm sure I know some people sell items that are non PC for much more than $1.99. Renderosity would be a good place to sell it too, as well as Turbosquid. Are you using Camtasia to make them?
Thanks,
Jarrett

the prixe for the double DVD is for around $99 and $49 for the Nierd one.
Do you think DAZ users who bought Hexagon at $1.99 will buy DVDs at this price ??

Well they have even the Cgtalk.com users buying it at $1.99. I am sure they would buy it for the prices you are asking. It doesn't hurt to try.

What you could do is get DAZ to offer it at a discount for PC members, since they like driving membership that way. Nierd, $10 off, Double DVD, $25 off, so $39.99, and $74.99. You would be surprised how many more purchases you get for slight price drops.

mmh.. most of them don't buy these DVD at 99$, because most of them are probably poser or DAZ studio users, and don't use Hexagon after few weeks...

..... but with the discount for PC members, why not !

Thomas: will these DVD's language be both French and English ?

I'll buy them for these prices. And I'll even promise I won't complain, demand a refund, or otherwise make a scene if you put them up for sale for $1.99 a week after I bought them

thats pretty much how much i was thinking of charging Thomas $99 for a complete poser to Hex and back to poser and conforming tutorial.
this includes mapping and grouping and bones ie joint edit.
we talk next weekend ?
