To all lucky owners of Hex 2, help us to download it please!

This is getting worse and worse, now with a 12% downloaded I still need to wait 28 hours!, I'm downloading at 3,9 k/seg!!! This is untenable!

I suposse that lot of you have good connections, so why not to up the file to a rapidshare account, or something similar, I know, I know, this could be 'illegal', but why?, I've my DAZ3D email with my own serial, the ones that doesn't has it will not be able to use the program in anyway.

Maybe through private messages we could help, not only to us but DAZ3D servers too.

It's only an idea, my apologies if I'm doing something bad.

Thanks!

I'm still waiting to get a connection!

...And over at the DAZ forums, peeps seem to be buying it new (at $1.99 mind you) and they're getting their's pronto!)

Apparently we're using Eovia's servers and this is the problem...

Please, send me a rapidshare.de link too.

No, I am using a daz server. But the connection broke for the second time.
Have to start all over again !!!

I don't understand why they couldn't rent some download servers for a couple of days? I would even have paid $2.99 for the program

For what it's worth, I have a high-speed connection and it took almost four hours to download the Hex2 package and the golden pack folder. Worth it, though. What was tripping me up when I started is that you have to wait five or ten minutes just to connect to the server, which I'm sure is very busy just now.

Just a rapidshare.de link to the program part will do.
The docu/video's parts will come later through the official download.

Yes, it is, and that's weird just because there are really good, cheap and fast servers in USA compared to UE ones.

I don't really understand software liceneces or anything would we be breaking any agreement if we uploaded the zip (or exe I forget which it was) to a file lockup for you to download?

I found that post on cgtalk.

FYI, we've been running 25 mirrored servers to handle our usual load of traffic, as of this morning we're adding another 10 servers, so they should start helping out with the load over the next several hours.

In the end, if you can wait to download until tonight/tomorrow, you're probably better off to do so, as speeds will start to get a little better, but it will take some time for the load to spread, etc..

Thanks for your patience!,

Steve

Wait for 27 hours it's not patience... is madness, maybe in 90's but not in 2006.

Look at it this way, if there were no electronic downloads we would all have to wait several days to a week or more for a physical shipment anyway. These files are getting so huge, I'm not so sure that the physical shipment isn't still the best way to go. When I first got a broadband connection, about six years ago, I could download Apple and Adobe upgrades and updates incredibly fast, in just a few minutes. Now the servers are so overworked it's no surprise that "high-speed" downloads are barely faster than the old dial-ups used to be. No matter how fast your connection, it can never be any faster than the server that's sending the stuff to you.

Patience has always been a virtue. Nowadays it's a necessity! ;o)

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS KIND OF ACTION. THIS IS THE FASTEST WAY TO GET PIRATED COPIES OF SOFTWARE INTO THE MARKET.

Please no not put us in the position where we will have to take action against any of you. We want to have an environment of trust, and I believe that all of you will take this into consideration before doing anything that could jeopardize that trust.

Best,
Bob

Damn shame, I bought a $1.99 copy from DAZ and got an immediate link and serial number (talk about service) - I have Hex2 it in hand now...
(And my Eovia Hex2 link STILL ain't work'n yet... )

At least I was able to get the hex pack download (finally) from eovia so I have it all now - this whole Hex2 upgrade was a fiasco I must say.

All us customers wanted was a simple modeling package upgrade!

Not that I'm ungrateful and I'd certainly like to offer my thanks to all the developers and force behind this package but LAWD, I've NEVER seen anything like this in all of my years using and buying computer wares! $1.99... lawd!

You are right Bob, in fact, this wasn't my intention, Eovia has prove a excelent relationship with it customers and personally as a newcomer costumer (this morning ) I much estimate that, even more with the superb offer of Hex 2 from DAZ3D.

My only intention was exclusively share between a small part of the forum users, just because in the end all of us we get the same file, downloading from DAZ3D, Eovia or ourselves, only registered users has a key and if I pay I will never give my key to others, anyway, as I said, you are right and I understand your "company position". Don't worry about this topic, there is no one sharing nothing and I will finally give up and wait until tomorrow to download at better speeds.

Btw, my official download from DAZ servers died about 65 mb, so after a lot of hours downloading I need to restart it again.

Just hope that Eovia and DAZ understand too that 28 hours of downloading isn't an enjoyable experience, more when it can dead in anytime and need to be restarted.

Best regards.

PD: Uf, excuse my english too much lines for my level.
