How to, in Hex 2.

Ignoring the issues of Hex 2 for a moment... how do people disable the wireframe on models to get that nice occlusion shot? Also, does anyone know why imported models (and even some created in Hex 2) can't be painted on until a new UV map is applied? Is that a bug? Just so you know, the models I couldn't paint had a UV map already.

Curious curious...

At first assign materials (new) then make a new map or import an image ..

the display mode are listed on the bottom ..all you have to do is to switch

Use the Smoothed solid button and deselect your object I think. I'm still waiting on the link.

I did read the section on painting and I dont recall seeing anything on materials. I did eventually assign a material on a part of a model and still had some issues. Need to keep playing for now.

Figured it out. doh. Im a nutter.

Cheers

in order to assign a material on a part of a mesh ,you need at first to select the polys ,then to make a new shading domain. Then you should be abble to assign the material..in fact the material is generated .all you have to do is to tune it at your leisure
You can make different uvws for both

Cool... weird, I tried deselecting my model, but for some reason couldn't. Now I know how

I believe the 'can't paint' issue is a bug. I've been over it about ten times, and it's quite unusual. And as I said, the models I've played with have UVs on them.

Is it possible to import a poser character, modify the texture map, then re-save the map so when I am back in Poser I have a new texture?

I think yes ..I didn't had a try with poser
it should depends of the export (groups or unimesh)
Beware to not overwrite an original texture

What up ? Daz doesn't respond ?
weird bug indeed .you have to be clearer
can't paint bug ??
If there is a material ,if polys are assigned to materials ,if the materials have a map..You can paint

Piem, the bug has been submitted to Daz. I'll wait and hear back from them.

I load in a model with UVs and apply a material. All looks good. I check and double check all the settings are okay.

I try to paint on the model, and nothing happens.

The material is okay. The UVs are okay. The model is okay. I'm in paint mode with a bright colour selected. Yet, I can't paint on the model. I delete that model and create a cube, and apply a UV map and material to it. Now I can paint on the model.

I know what I'm doing- it's just a bug.

Before you can tell it's a bug you have to understand the way things must be done.
Sometimes ,softs are more complex than they seems at the first sight.
.what is your model ? it is one object with multiples materials ?
Where are the maps ? on the same folder ?
