Hex 2.0 Bugs Thread

Thought we may as well start a bugs thread.

Its kinda late her so I havent tried to reproduce these but here is what Ive run into so far. Maybe others may see similar things?

System Specs ... WinXP Home, 2 Gig Ram, ATi 9600 128Meg, Running Dual Monitor.

1) Had Hex crash once when I accidentally hit delete on an edge and then purposfully selected the object and hit delete.

2) Had Hex crash on what looked like an Open GL Bug. Now when I start Hex and use a multiple viewport one of them is always not shaded (cant see the oject im working on) also when starting Hex on what ever viewport thats currently having the problem (whatever it is) ... u can see my windows desktop through it untill I minimize Hex 2 and then maximize again. The minimizing and maximizing doesnt solve the non shading though.

3) Turning off and on antialiasing in the preference editor is sometimes twitchy ... also anti aliasing on object egdes sometimes gets wierd.

Im usually up to date on my Vid drivers ... but maybe I need to check and see if Im still up to date.

Dan

EDIT: Not sure if this is a bug ... but if u tear off the materials window ... u cant pull the left side panel out far enough to re-dock it.

I'm up to date in drivers, and there are bugs every two seconds for me. Also, wouldn't this be better posted at Daz3d.com? I'm asking, since I don't know where is best.

1) Open two new windows and close both. One will leave behind a blank window area which can't be gotten rid of, escept by program close.

2) Moving all of the windows from a sidebar and closing the sidebar causes many issues (bugs which can vary as they're based on other issues relating to this).

More to come.

Yes, this is the issue I mentioned. You can fix this by hitting F7 and then closing/reopening Hex 2. But, this causes some other issues, such as the menu items being open, but not nessesarily being ticked as active.

OK .
From now ,each time you hit a bug
Each time you run into problems
PLEASE

list the prefs you have

just make alt+p (preferences)
And send them to DAZ support
Otherwise :
go to diplay/advanced and tell the optimisation opengl you have (none, vbo, display list),tell if you are in local redraw or not, antialias or not.
tell the vga drivers you have
I own personnaly a geforce6800 and special tricks are needed because the graphic card ressource are fully claimed with hexagon2 and some bugs can happen with some cards and not with other one
..nothing to see with hexagon1 regarding open gl

You can make captures

Again some users won't match unless they got a decent card

Bob Stockwell from Eovia said the best place to send bug reports is to Daz support.

This, I will do.

Here ,in this forum ,people always asking things and they got free support as well, not official but it's often usefull because the answers are matching most of the time ,this is frienship, some other do not want to say hello to daz ,some are just comming from daz forum, some others are friends..you know..You can ask where you want.

I don't care .

Thats an e-mail form ... the bugs go into a hole ... no one sees ur bug reports?

EDIT: ... New release ,,, prolly some bugs ,,, so its not ok to talk about this on the forums here? ... isnt that what community forums relative to various programs do ... am I missing something?

I don't think the developpers will read all the posts here.

Hi folks. I'm one of the mods over at the DAZ forums and when I read this thread, I e-mailed them and they've now added Hexagon 2 to the bugs database.

Please go to http://www.daz3d.com/bugs/ and create an account, then choose Hexagon 2 from the pull-down list at the top right and click on Switch. When you submit a bug, please set it to public so that others can see them and can add notes so that bugs aren't duplicated.

Is anyone out there using a Wacom tablet and dual monitors? The problem that I am having is with the tablet mapping. No matter how I set my Wacom settings, my tablet will only map to the first monitor when I am using Hexagon 2. I have all of my property windows on my second monitor, and switching to a mouse to get to the second monitor is not acceptable.

Can anyone confirm this issue? I did a search, but didn't find anything...

Thanks!

Just for Thomas. Be glad the Daz people are not on to complaining on this site! I am much more "in tune" than I thought. Thanks for all the help you have given.

Anyone with Hex2 like to give this file a try? If I load it into Hex2 and try and select "Group8", the properties panel displays a few of the numbers and then Hex stops responding (CPU runs continuously at 100%).

I'd like to know if anyone else sees this to determine if it is my system or something more general.

Preferences are set as in the screen shot. I'm running a 3GHz P4 PC + 2GB RAM, Windows XP SP2 (fully up-to-date) and a AGP 8x Radeon 9550 with 128MB RAM (probably need more RAM... ).

Thanks

Miles
