Thanks for explaining Thomas. We cross posted, so I edited and just left the HUH? in my previous post. Cheers, Steve

I didnt want to ruin the mood in the other thread where everyone is mooooing but. Hex is supposed to ship today. I read eather on here or the daz forum that its supposed to ship 10:00am eastern then someone said it was 10:00 pacific. so now its 2:30 eastern and im wondering where is hex? Im positive that if someone got hold of it allready they would have been braging by now. This means that even the preorder people who had first dibs on it still dont have it. Im just wondering whats up? |

![]() I think the sooner Daz sets up a hex/carrara/eovia product forum at their site, the better. I don't think it is right of Daz to expect people to come here, that would be bad form. Also I hope people don't come here either from Daz and that the forums here stay as they where before the acquisition. Quote:

@ MagicRubber Probably just the usual last minute glitch. Computers & the Internet have the same devices fitted that photocopiers have - you know the one that makes them less likely to work the more urgently you need something? I'm guessing the number of people waiting with their fingers over the return key makes it a certainty that the uplink's going to go fuzzy just at the wrong moment.. |

hi Joanne my apologies as ive already said in another thread, that wasnt meant to be harsh on you. .i have no problems with Daz the company or any gripe or any complaints or issue with them. im just not a huge fan of vendors spamming the forums with their latest creations. whilst i understand the need to promote products i dont particularly like having product shoved in my face. Daz 3D have a part to play in the 3d community as do Poser users i never said otherwise. other than the fact i dont like them i never said a bad word against Daz btw i agree with you that the sooner Daz has its own forums the better, then the vendors can spam them all they want if you or anyone else wants help regarding modeling using Hexagon this is probably the best place to come most here are more than willing to help stu

Well, I can't keep waiting and will have to go to bed soon or I'll have trouble getting upr for work. Still, I get the impression that DAZ is going to re-structure it's site to accomodate it's new software. It has been a 'content and club' approach to date but I'm thinking that the point of buying Carrara/Hex is to become more than that. The marketing is, well, yes, I have to agree, a bit cheesy - but so long as it keeps making them bundles of money, they're not going to feel pressured to change it. Pity but I can live with it. I have posted this elsewhere (can't remember where) but I have wondered about a possible advantage for Hex in the buy out. Reading between the lines in these forums, I have the impression that some of the features found in Amapi were being kept out of Hexagon in order maintain them as distinct products for different kinds of users. Perhaps now, without Amapi in the DAZ purchase, we might see things like rulers and nurbs developed for version 3. |

This will take some time, but I confident we will implement a solution that will work well.

a bold marketing move on with the dollar store pricing. It should place Hex2 in the hands of just about everbody in 3d before Silo and Modo are released. I know Modo is moving toward full app but still. time to get ready for a slew of simple modeling questions for new modelers..... |

This is absolutely not true. Development dictated the release date, not the acquisition. As for the flowers comment, would have been nice, but I've been involved in software too long to think that anything other than what we've seen happen would happen. It's to be expected, especially from a community of artists. Passionate people have passionate responses, and there's nothing wrong with that, IMO.
