Hello all,

I have started a new thread in the "Eovia & Eovia3D.net" area for questions. Please post your questions in that thread so we can catch as many as possible.

Thanks

One big question that came up was: why didn't the President of Daz come to this forum to announce the news himself and answer some questions, rather than chatting away only in the Daz forums?

He will be. We've divided up all the forums to try and cover the areas we know best. I work closely with Dan now, and he will soon be creating an account here to provide some direct input.

We will be kind to him
Will he sue me for using the DAZ logo in my Avatar?

Edit: I wonder whether the Avatar applies more to me than the CEO of Daz?

Hi Bob,

I had to use IE on OSX with the C5 download. It is no biggie but can I use Safari this time when I use the Hexagon2 updater link?
It is nice to know in advance because safari is the default browser and if I remember correctly I needed to fill out a form. Don't want to fill out the form twice.

Thanks

A very impatient customer

We expect that Safari will work fine this time.

Bob, I was wondering if you expect the same delays as we had with carrara 5 in the download process? Is it a bigger download? Is there an option for seperating the app and documentation from the content downloads? How many people are lined up in the preorder que? Do you still think you'll hit the 28th target for beginning downloads?
Thanks,
Jtbullet

I assume eovia & daz still have different servers. Both could be used for download.
Documentation & tutorial video's could be uploaded to e.g. rapidshare.de servers?

Hi Bob,

I am glad you have made an effort to contact us Carrara users.

I hope you do not take offense to the posts that have been made. I hope you realize some of use have been with Ray Dream Studio/Carrara for over ten years. We have seen Carrara evolve at a much faster rate than Poser or Bryce. As you can tell we are true Eovians at heart. Eovia had great products and great upgrades. I hope you can see that our fears consist of not knowing how well Daz will handle the upgrades, pricing and tech support. Daz bought Eovia because Eovia has great products and great loyalty to the customer. I hope this continues but for us Eovians I hope you will under stand that none of us wanted Eovia to break up. Eovia was just starting to kick some 3-D ass. Perhpas Daz will kick even harder.

We are going to send the links to all pre-orders at the same time. There may be download issues with the number of people going to the server, but the file size is 1/3 of the Carrara download so the issues should be far less severe.

No offense taken. Change is difficult, and I understand that. And I will continue to do my best to provide answers.

Thank you to all of you for your emotion. I'd much rather have this, then a bunch of forums with nothing but yawns and dead space!

Will be there a demo version available at the same time than the full ordered version downloads? Or we need to wait some days more to get it?

Oh, and Bob, thanks for your efforts in this forums, I think that Eovia is making an excelent work providing a lot of info about the acquisition and projects status.

Regarding to massive download issues maybe you could try using some kind of bittorrent downloading, as I know Luxology is currently implementing this method for its comunity.

Best regards.

Hello,

I was about to purchase hexagon, and as was stated in the news of Eovia and DAZ, I read this:

During the transition, the Eovia (www.eovia.com) website will be active and functional for making purchases for an as yet-to-be-determined period of time.

but unfortunately when i click on the hexagon in the webstore I receive this message:

An error has occurred
Product does not exist! At least one of the requested products does not exist.

Please, could someone point me in the right direction?

Regards,
Aram Azhari
