| Hex2 painting: weathering, rusting, dirt, etc ?
Hello ... I can not wait for Hex 2 ! Are there any special painting features build into Hex 2 to make objects look rusty, dirty, or old (paint coming off) ? The Modo team announced that they add fur, hair & grass paint tools to their 201 version. Can we expect any of that with Hex 2 (or 2.1) as well? Modo 201 will also come with a photoshop plugin that will export uv layouts as photoshop paths, ... any chance Hex 2 (2.1) will come with a photoshop plugin? - Marco. |

The last I heard they had a way of simulating it with microdisplacement but no true hair/fur tools. | |

That's not hair, it's micro polygon displacement, something that happens only at rendertime. Modo 201 does NOT do hair. It can be simulated but officially, there is no hair plug-in, add-on or code built into the program at the moment. A quote from Brad Peebler of Luxology: "They make it do things that were never intended. Like what you say? Well, as you probably know 201 does not have a hair/fur system." |

I am presuming it should be very, very simple to do Marcovth. Has anyone been trying out the WOW texture painting brushes in the trial version of the Microsoft Expressions Graphic Designer? I would imagine Hex 2 will be similar.
