Painted objects UV export

Hi There,

I'm considering buying Hexagon 2, but I have one question regarding the UV tools.

If I paint my object with the geometry brush, will I then be able to export a single(or multiple) uv map as a .bmp(or whatever image format) to be used with other game engines supporting the proper format?

Example:
I make a model of a tree, I paint the model brown&green with the brush, I export the texture exactly as I see it in perspective mode, I export the model, and then I load the tree and apply the texture to it in a game engine.

If this is not possible, I'm requesting that this be a feature in order to make a more efficient workflow for game developers wanting to export textured models into games.

Thanks,
Mike

My understanding is that Hex2 can export both UV templates and texture maps.

Okay thanks. So that means I won't have to do any unwrapping? What I see is what I will get as far as using the geometry paint for the models?

If so, then great. Thanks for your reply.

Mike

I don't know about that. Hex2 has a very useful unwrapping tool.

Hi MikeS, before you begin painting in Hex2 you have to use the UV-unfold tool. this looks like I can do this, so therefore I think you can do this. ;)

Just look at http://hexablog.eovia.com/video/hex2_napoleothon.mov

Have fun.
