Dear Brothers & Sisters, I do not mean to be rude or sarcastic or anything. I just like to know what are your thoughts on this matter. "How does Zbrush 2 compare to its competitor product -> Hexagon 1.2 and Hexagon 2 ???" I am a newbie trying to make a decision on which one to pick up. I have seen the videos of what each one of these softwares can do. I am totally lost. Perhaps would some Veteran please advice on the matter ? So far, I seem to like Hexagon much better because the interface is simpler and more intuitive. There is even a property box that zbrush does not have ... Thank you so much for your time. Best Regards As Always FunkyCat Spangky |

Though it is software that has both merits I do not think that it is understood whether to encounter your directions if it doesn't use it. I think that it comes to be able to use both demonstrations after a while. Need not I be in a hurry? Because I am Hex1 originally user, it is pre-order. |

Various threads in other forums suggests that Hexagon2 is a serious contender for top place. Comparing it with both zBrush and even the very high price Modo! From what I see so far--and I downloaded the ZBrush manual--Hexagon2 should be one of the easiest to learn and work with. Combined with Carrara it really does make a formidable and comprehensive 3D team at a realistic price.

Zbrush really does not compare to Hexagon 1.2. You will need to compare to Hexagon 2.0 Hexagon is a very good tool and easy to learn and use. Version 2.0 is going to add some really nice features similar to Zbrush and BodyPaint and costs a LOT less. Hexagon 2.0 has not been released yet and won't be for at least 3 weeks so it is hard to compare them without being able to use them. But, for the money, I think you really can't go wrong with Hexagon 2.0 from what I have seen that has been released. |

I have Zbrush and Hex 1 and I find modelling alot easier in hex , and with the features of Hex 2 coming soon Hex 2 will do what Zbrush can do and more and alot easier to use and learn ![]() Zbrush 2 has a steep learning curve and the UI is hard to get used to IMHO .

Dear Brothers & Sisters, Thank you so much for all your replies and input. I think I am starting to like Hexagon more and more. I too never liked the steep learning curve of zbrush. | |

I'm with BluesDragon on this one. I think the price and new features are enough to make me a new Hex owner. I recommend trying out the demo versions to decide for yourself. (Keep in mind Hex2 demo is not available yet.) I found the Hex tools much easier to navigate and understand so I am motivated to put more time into learning it. ZBrush, for me, has a very complex interface and so I would have to spend a lot more time learning all the features. Since I work with Obj. formats Hex 2 looks like it will provide me with everything I need to scuplt my models with more accuracy and less time.

Hey. Paul! Good to see ya here! I'm a lightwaver from way back, and I'll be getting Hex 2 just for the features missing from lightwave. (even lightwave 9) There's an old saying, the right tool, for the right job. I'll use any tool I can that will make content creation easier. being "dedicated" to any tool, or company serves you poorly. Gte the tools that have the features you need for your workflow. That said, texture and displacement painting, and easier uv mapping are my main Hex 2 tools I'm interested in. if I find some nifty modelling tools in Hex 2, more the better! |

Hey Gareee, I have to agree, I will use Hex2 with my existing tools. One of the things that interests me is the UV unwrapping. I use UV Mapper pro which is an excellent utility, but I am hoping Hex will do more. By the videos it looks that way!
