EIAS FACT format export.

Hi,
I use Hexagon with Electric Image Animation System (EIAS). Currently to get my models into EIAS I import in Carrara and export as FBX, then import into EIAS. The models come in well and clean, but the steps are tedious when you do it several times a day.

I'd really appreciate if Hexagon could have EIAS' FACT format as an export option.

Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't think it will be added. Hexagon Dev Team prefers to develop standard files format like FBX, than FACT, which is dedicated to only one software.
You can also use OBJ which works pretty nice with EIAS

Hiya,

I think a general modeller like Hex should have more export options. It would make it much more appealing. I too would love to see .fac export. Amapi use to have it, along with a number of other formats.

EIAS import Hex OBK as it could import a fact exported from any modeler. What is the specific need her ? you will have the same result with a fact or OBJ ;)

Hi Thomas,

I always find that obj into eias brings in a mesh with a few selected polys flipped. I'd preffer to just import a fac. With Transporter, i can get an obj in but it's an extra step, also the latest version of transpoter takes longer as it always validates normals. It can take an age for a large mesh.
