when you hit tab after placing the origin of your line you are then able to input values under the tool properties. after you fill in the fields click apply and the next set of input values wanted are displayed. Once it has all the required values it wants and you click apply and there is no change to the fields required click validate.. Sorry for the gross description.. doing it by memory and I am some what new

I'm not sure why the tab key isn't working for you, but it's just a keyboard shortcut and you can use the mouse instead. After selecting the helix tool, click in the each of the numeric entry fields in the tool properties window and edit the field to set the values described. After completing each set of values, click the Apply button and the tool properties window should change to display the next set of options. After you have entered the Edges value you can click the validate button to complete and exit the tool. Miles | |

Thanks Miles, Thats what I did to get a result. (I cut out what seemed surplus to the way I have been working) Are you using Mac? The shortcut for the Tab I have (pc) is "Tool Option" which obviously was not applicable in at least some of your Tab usage placements. It's very confusing at times.

I'm using a PC. Can't check the binding of the TAB key at the moment, but it hasn't been changed from the default (Tool Options sounds about right). It certainly moves to the tool options panel and then cycles through the available fields and buttons. If you've got a method that works for you then I'd stick with that Miles |
