Arrow Great hexagon interface modifications.

Hi!
I'm experienced 3d freelancer.
I'm from Russia, so please forgive my grammar.
I like hexagon very much, and thoroughly master all it's functions and use it in my work.

I'm a little bit programmer, so i wrote some userfull modifications of Hexagon interface.

1) A patch to hexagon's 1.2 AmapiLibDLL.dll witch changes the functionality of mouse double click from inessential "auto selection" to actual "loop selection" command.
http://www.tinker.ru/Loop_patch.zip

2)A resident module what make viewport rotation with right mouse button, soft sellection when holding unclaimed up to then "windows" key, soft sellection size changing with scroller (check readme.txt for details of installation!)
http://www.tinker.ru/reKey022c.rar
New version! Scroller outside hexagon fixed.

Just try them, and you will understand how convinient modeling should be.

Also i wrote some usefull tutorials. Now they are on russian, but i could translate them to english. In any case i think you could use it, they are very detailed.

http://www.tinker.ru/hextutor.jpg (this is a basic one)
http://www.tinker.ru/hand1.jpg
http://www.tinker.ru/hand2.jpg
http://www.tinker.ru/trick1.jpg
http://www.tinker.ru/trick2.jpg

And if your interested - here is some my hexagon models:
http://www.tinker.ru/leech.jpg
http://www.tinker.ru/sword.jpg
http://www.tinker.ru/teapot.jpg

I will be very pleased with your response.
Сongratulate you with 3December - day of 3d artist!
Good luck!

P.S. information for Eovia:
I can work on Hexagon promotion some ways - make a site, tutorials, a book maybe (keeping images from tutorials in TIFF for that). Also i can modell something great for you

Hi Trogwart, and welcome here !
Just a question: your tutorials, you are posting them on a forum? Does russia have a big Hexagon community?
And nice "hacks" (You are a liar, you're not a little bit programmer, but a good one )

Please contact Laurent Billy at Eovia about what do you want exactly ;) (laurent.billy (at) eovia.com)

The Carrara SDK work only with Carrara and nothing else. Hexagon SDK is not public.

Are there plans to take the Hexagon SDK out to the public? I've been doing some (simple) plug-ins for a competing modeler (mostly workflow-related) and I would like to see if I can port those tools over to Hexagon. Is it possible for me to apply for consideration into the Hexagon SDK program?

As far as I know, the SDK isn't complete to be public and undocumented (that's the problem I think ;)

To me, that's not an issue as that is the same situation with the "other" SDK.

Hi all! Hi Thomas!
I did not look here for a long time becouse of absence attention to my beginnings.
And now at last an attraction of authority representative

About hack of dll - i made it with OllyDbg, just throw over jump after doubleclick from one command to another. It is pity that no SDK avalible for hexagon, and it has so poor support from Eovia.

Thomas, you asked me about our hexagon community - yes it's considerable.
Here http://www.3dcenter.ru/forum/index.php?showforum=20 you can see my hexagon topik on one of the main russian 3d resource. About 5000 viewings and lively discussion. All started from my little article

And again about Eovia and hexagon. Its looks like eovia dont care about hexagon's destiny at all! How they planed to sell it without advertisement?
No usefull information, no support, no bugfixes? Already surrendered to Luxology Modo? Or just dont know what is getting on? Your rival's popularity grows every day. Just look at cgtalk.com forum.

I planed to make a site about hexagon, write tutorials, start a discussion on cgtalk, maybe even write a book. (of course i whanted to earn some money with my labour). But eovia not even answered my letter. It seems their business goes well, they are not owners of dying forum and unnoticed product. Maybe it sounds roughly, but unfortunately it is so. Just face the truth!
I have done a lot of work based only on inspiration and interest, and to go on i need some financing, what blame in it? Besides i need to pay for domain name, hosting, etc

Good luck in creative!
See you!

I didn't reply to your first message, because I thought it wasn't my autority about that. Even if I'm an Eovia member, I'm a technical, not a marketing guy. But everybody at Eovia Europe know you

We know it about the SDK, it's something we have to finish but actually, all our developpers are on current code. I think a SDK will be available just after the next major release.
For you, not having a SDK is not having support? Or I missunderstood. We always try to communicate with our customers as much as possible, as this forum can show it.

I visited this forum, but my Russian reading is none, then, I can't understand anything ! The only thing I found is some regkeys and warez stuff about our products

Sorry, but we do a lot of advertissment, more that you can imagine, but yes, we don't do advertising in russia since it's a market we don't know at all.

Hexagon 1.2 with improvments and bug fixes, support thrue this forum and other forums, two technical supports (US and europe), an Hexagon 1.21 bugfix version which will be available soon... I can't agree with you on that...

Quote:
Already surrendered to Luxology Modo?
Not at all. Modo isn't our main competitor, Hexagon wasn't designed to be on of its competitor... And not the same price too. (And for the little story, on of the developper don't leave far away from us...)

Quote:

Yes, I know it since I'm a long time member of CGTalk (and CGsociety member too). Some users love Modo, some others dislike it a lot, as our software.

Did you contact Laurent Billy as I told you on my first reply? We are always looking for any kind of support, and I don't see why we won't support you if we can do it.

Owner of which dying forum? This one growing everydays, and it's not the Eovia forum, it's mine.

As I do

Hexagon is still a young product and can't be as famous as old one. Let it grow at it is actually!

I asked this to Charles once during a live chat. He stated that it would probablly be for Hexagon 2.
